What do you think of this for a girl? Alternatives are Ariana or Arianne with Aria for short.

My best friend's DD is Aria, pronounced ah-ria and I think it it beautiful

All lovely names. There was a girl at school called Arianne and we all called her Ari for short. So as long as you like both Ari and Aria for short. I like Arianne better than Ariana but no idea why

Aria is a Vegas hotel but as a girls name it's beautiful.

i love Arya (thrones/pll) but Aria is my husbands favourite pc parts shop!

MontePulciana · 13/01/2017 05:46

It's also a major hotel in Las Vegas.

I don't get the thing about the pronunciation - Aria the name is from the musical term, which only has one pronunciation? It's Ahh-ree-ah. It's a nice name but I think you'd need to use the correct pronunciation?

GreatFuckability · 13/01/2017 14:38

Can I just through in Arian, which is welsh for Silver, pronounced. ARR-yan. (rolly r)

lucieloos · 13/01/2017 15:43

Thanks great, I'm not so keen on the name Arian I just associate it with the Welsh word for money too much.

Arian also has ever so slight associations with Nazism Shock. Coming round to Aria, a colleague of mine has just had one. Thought it was very whacky at first but I don't watch TV and apparently it's in the top 100 now.
