Hi, trying to name DC4 after boys- so basically she has a jumble of names we didn't use the last 3 times..!

As a middle name I would like something Rose-like:- my sister is Rose, other sis has Rosalind middle name, mum has Rosamund middle name.... as we live in the East Asia I tried to go for Rose in Chinese but it is a bit Hmm

Any ideas?

And also- too flowery next to Iris as a middle name?!

So many names in our list I can't narrow it down, she'll have about 20 at this rate!

I think Rosa is nice and a nod towards your sister and mum. I prefer it to Rose.

Iris Rosa is OK but Iris would probably go better with one of the longer alternatives suggested by PP above.

Rosa is gorgeous, but not sure it goes with Iris.

Rosa Elizabeth
Rosa Charlotte
Rosa Beatrice

Rosie?

ThinkPinkStink · 10/01/2017 17:42

We have a Rosemary nn 'Rose' or 'Rosie' - when we were deciding her name we chose between:

Rosa, Rosamund, Rosalie and Rosemary.

Mouseinahole · 10/01/2017 17:57

Rosamund means rose of the world, I love it.
Roisin is pretty too.

Rosabel

piginboots · 10/01/2017 21:31

Or Roslyn

MoreBushThanMoss · 10/01/2017 21:34

Rosita would be "little rose" in English so possibly quite apt?

ClaryIsTheBest · 10/01/2017 21:37

Roslyn remind me of Roslin castle. One of the few pieces I have still memorised and could play on the violin without needing sheet music.

I'd go for Roslyn or Rosalie.

ClaryIsTheBest · 10/01/2017 21:39

And yes, feel free to judge my Violine skills. It's... whatever. Quite bad.

Anyhow. Ya. Bye. That's awkward. I have to think about name changing Blush

Buntysoven · 11/01/2017 01:03

Susanne/Susannah is lily not rose

ClaryIsTheBest · 11/01/2017 01:17

I really thought it meant Rose in modern Hebrew. Interesting.

Are you certain? Blush

Pemba · 11/01/2017 03:20

Susannah/Susan/Suzanne is lily, yes. Well that's what I've always heard from many different name dictionaries going back decades.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 11/01/2017 13:03

Rosetta.

ClaryIsTheBest · 11/01/2017 13:13

I just googled it. It was apparently meant to be Lily but in modern Hebrew it means Rose? I'm not sure why...

ElspethFlashman · 11/01/2017 13:15

Rosario
Rosaleen

binkybonk · 11/01/2017 13:16

Thanks for the millions of ideas! She already has a Welsh first name so thinking of Rhosyn but not in live with it at the mo. Will do some mixing and see what we end up with..!
Thanks all
