Rubbish and the hadron collider

Not as names...

But I was told to choose a name based on the idea that your kid should be able to be a bin man/woman or run a hadron collider.

So Dr Althea Smith could work in CERN and Allie Smith could make a living with the Council.

Now I think anyone should be able to anything with any name and that a lot of this is snobbery! But DD did end up with one of these names. Did yours?

Right?! But they all have really ridiculous nicknames! There's an Apree, a Natty, a Wadge (apparently not Vage Hmm) and a Fudgy... why? Why do seemingly normal and educated people choose to do that to lovely and classical names? :('

If only I'd have thought of it, Mr whippy is easier to spell Grin

MrsTerryPratchett · 07/01/2017 17:40

Wadge (apparently not Vage) Proper LOL.

I know an Apollonia who works in Sainsbury's and is known by her full name.

My boys have names that work both ways (Harry and William) but DD is Molly. Not sure that works for a high court judge etc. Ah well.

mrs
.😂 It's actually pronounced Wudge (fair enough) but I've seen it written down and it's Wadge! I mean, how? why? English people... weirdos Wink

I call my DS Tombalina Ballerina Grin. He's a strapping 16 year old cadet... he could go with Tom the bin man or Dr Thomas the scientist. It fits the criteria.
