Is this boys name usable with my surname ?

I really like the name Elliot as our boys name but our surname starts and ends with T (something similar to Turrett).

Is Elliot Turrett OK or are there just too many Ts?

Thanks

Ooooo no sorry dosnt sound right 🙁

JessieDoops · 06/12/2016 22:27

I think it sounds fine

VivienneWestwoodsKnickers · 06/12/2016 22:32

You'll get lazy pronunciation - EllioTurrett. If they makes sense.

Correctly pronounced, it is too many Ts together. Elliot-Turrett is very harsh on the teeth.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 06/12/2016 22:32

Personally I don't like it. He may think it's fine.

Bit hard to say with the T - T sound imo

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 07/12/2016 01:09

A bit of T overdose I'm afraid.

GruochMacAlpin · 07/12/2016 01:16

Sounds fine in my accent (Scottish)

EssentialHummus · 07/12/2016 01:19

No from me. Ely?

Out2pasture · 07/12/2016 01:48

it's rare that a first and last name are said out loud together. Elliot is a lovely name ;). double t's are not a challenge to me (Canadian)

OlennasWimple · 07/12/2016 01:50

No, they will get run in together.

You could use it as a middle name, though, as it's very rare that you need to say your full name out loud

nooka · 07/12/2016 03:20

I say my first and second name together frequently, every time I introduce myself at work for example. Too many 't's for me I'm afraid OP.

JunebabyT · 07/12/2016 21:31

Thanks all, I thought as much!

People will think you are a massive fan of ET as that will be the initials and the kid in the film is called Elliott.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 07/12/2016 22:29

I like it and sounds fine to me, I doubt his peers will link it to ET, the film is ancient and will be even more ancient by the time he's at school.

JudgeJudySheidlin · 08/12/2016 00:51

If your real surname is what I think it might be then Elliott could just about go with it. Does not go well with Turrett as this combination is challenging & does not roll off the tongue well.
