Don't go with Norman. My DH has Norman as a middle name and loathes it to the point he leaves it off all legal documents and was much put out that it had to be included on his passport.

viques · 06/12/2016 09:24

Aw, have just been reminded of an old friend whose stage name was Chestikoff.

viques · 06/12/2016 09:26

Ps re Norman. Norman Bates? Norman Wisdom? And Is Norman the reason why FatBoy Slim didn't use his given name..............

29redshoes · 06/12/2016 09:29

I quite like it. I think Holly Willoughby has a Chester (not that that should sway you either way, just a random fact!)

EllenDegenerate · 06/12/2016 09:33

Its a bit like calling your baby Preston.

Its a place. I would wonder if he were conceived there.

GinevraPotter · 06/12/2016 09:47

I quite like Chester, but it does remind me of people selling "chester draws" on Facebook.

I like Victor and Raymond. The nickname Ray is nice as well.

I'm really not a fan of Norman. Norman Bates was my first thought.

Raymond is my favourite out of the four.

Gruffalosfriend · 06/12/2016 10:03

Norman is really not nice, sorry.

Love Victor though!

BipBippadotta · 06/12/2016 17:15

Another one here who thinks of Chester as a dog's name (in particular, my uncle's beloved Shih Tzu).

Of the others, I'd go for Victor. Know too many bad Raymonds, and Norman just makes me think Bates, Conquest, etc.

I like it! Chet for short Xmas Smile

MollyHuaCha · 06/12/2016 22:20

I prefer Victor.

RortyCrankle · 06/12/2016 22:33

It reminds me of chester draws which I've read on MN is sometimes used by illiterate people on FB when selling a chest of drawers. Sorry. don't really like any of your four choices.

SanityAssassin · 06/12/2016 22:34

Chester by far the nicest of your choices plus Chester Bennington would be a cool namesake!

therootoftheroot · 06/12/2016 22:36

they are all awful

wtf is with the trend of giving babies ugly middle aged man/old man names?

it's not cute. why on earth would you want to call a beautiful baby Norman?

ffs!

BackforGood · 06/12/2016 22:51

Chester is the name of a town, not a person.

Have you suggested the other 3 to make Chester look good in comparison ????

heateallthebuns · 06/12/2016 22:51

Er, I don't believe that shortlist. It's a joke.

Chester zoo?

DramaAlpaca · 06/12/2016 22:53

I don't think we have the same taste in names.

roseteapot101 · 06/12/2016 22:53
