We think it's lovely but we're still not quite sure. Any opinions?

Oh my darling, it's not a bad name but would inevitably be shortened. What nn would you like to use?

TopKittyKat · 04/12/2016 09:02

I love it. I think it would be shortened to Clem, which I also love.

NeepNeepNeep · 04/12/2016 09:02

I see what you did there dotdot

Knittedfrog · 04/12/2016 09:03

I really like it.

Hulababy · 04/12/2016 09:04

I currently teach two 5y Clementines. Both in same class too.
One is always called Clementine, the other is usually Clem.

srslylikeomg · 04/12/2016 09:05

Beautiful name! I know a Clemmie

Shadowboy · 04/12/2016 09:06

My friend is called Clementine, her nn is Clemmie. She's a lovely person and the name really suits her.

MiniMaxi · 04/12/2016 09:18

Very pretty name. Personally prefer Clem to Clemmie but both OK as nn's

ClaudiaApfelstrudel · 04/12/2016 09:46

I quite like Clementine, but Clem is awful. Also you'd be setting your daughter up for a lifetime of 'oh my darlings'

NataliaOsipova · 04/12/2016 09:49

I love it - suggested it for my DD. Loved Clemmie for short. Was roundly shouted down by DH who went on to suggest we called her Tangerine or Satsuma. The "Oh my darling" thing is also to be considered, although I find my DC don't know many traditional songs.

Sophronia · 04/12/2016 11:26

I like it, but people might not always pronounce it the way you want (teen vs. tyne)

wheelwithinawheel · 04/12/2016 12:03

My best friend is a clementine but goes by clemmie. I might be biased but I LOVE the name.

IAteSomeofthePies · 04/12/2016 12:10

I love it. I know one 8-9 yo who is always Clementine. They pronounce it -tyne. Suspect that very few children will know the song.

Joinourclub · 04/12/2016 12:40

I really liked clem until someone pointed out it rhymes with phlegm!

lilydaisyrose · 04/12/2016 12:42

This is my all time favourite girls name - but I don't dare to suggest it to DH (who'd hate it!). I love it (& Clemmie, Clem etc), please use it!

AmyInTheBoonies · 04/12/2016 12:57

I'm not convinced, I quite like it but only if pronounced Clem-en-teen not Clem-en-tyne.

Either way Clem or Clemmy isn't a very nice nickname and the song too.

Saying all that it is quite sweet.

I like it!

NameChange30 · 04/12/2016 16:37

Love it.
And I like the song so that wouldn't bother me.
Prefer the NN Clemmie for a girl but Clem is good too.
It's never made me think of the word "phlegm" Hmm

ClashCityRocker · 04/12/2016 16:43

I think the name is pretty but don't like clem or clemmie. Probably because when I was a kid 'clemmo' was what you called someone who was a bit thick. I've never heard of it used elsewhere though so suspect it was very localised (possibly just my school) and wouldn't be a problem.

Coey2016 · 04/12/2016 18:09

I like the full name but am not so keen on the shortenings.

Largemelons · 05/12/2016 07:54

I adore it. DH hates it :(

BriocheBriocheBrioche · 05/12/2016 08:08

I have one! We pronounce it teen as we are in France. It very rarely gets shortened but if it does she is CeCe as she has a C middle name too.
I love it but understand it can be a bit of a Marmite name!

Gruffalosfriend · 05/12/2016 09:44

Clementine (pronounced teen) is nice but I really don't like Clem or Clemmy, reminds me of clammy.

Veterinari · 05/12/2016 11:19

It's a fruit.
And clemmy sounds like clammy
It's a damp, sweaty sort of name
