Is there anyone out there who knew their baby's name straight away?

Just curious, as I see so many threads with people trying to choose a name! :D

Before we even knew we were having a boy, we had picked out a boy's name. And we knew what the middle name would be straight away (if a boy, DPs dad's first name, if a girl, my mum's name).

We always knew if we had a daughter her name would be Saskia...and then at the 20wk scan when we saw it was a girl, we just smiled and simultaneously said, "Hi Saskia!"

I had my names chosen whilst I was pregnant.
It was pre finding out the sex of your baby days.
I had a girl's name and a boy's name picked each pregnancy (3)
My three children were registered before I left hospital .

I knew as soon as the sonographer told us he was a boy (which I of course already knew)

I actually started looking for my baby's name as soon as I found out that I was pregnant! haha

I knew the first 2 at the 12 week scan when found out the gender. Had run out of idead by the third so that took a few hours after the birth.

We have two DDS.
I have always had one boys name I like, and three girls names I like.
So yes we already had it.
I worked my way down the list. So now pregnant with third DC (don't know sex) we have one name left for either boy or girl.

Well I think it is something worth thinking about. I am sure there are some aspects that the initial thought doesn't cover.

I decided on my DS's name when I was in my 20s well before I met DH and had DS (now 2). I told DH my names when we were dating and he agreed. So never any debate. Now pregnant with DD and I've posted in here a few times about that one! Never had a girls name in mind and we're both finding it tricky!

We had picked Sam for ds1 but then when he was born I thought he didn't look like a Sam so we called him a different name. Ironically he grew to look like what I thought a Sam would look like!
We had a shortlist for ds2 but when he was born, I just fell in to calling him one of the names and then when dh started talking about other names on the shortlist I said I couldn't think of him as anything else now but the name I had started calling him.
Dh named ds3 when I was still pregnant.
I named ds4. Dh didn't really like his name but grew to love it.
My SILs "stole" all my girl names while I was having my boys so I got dd's name from nymbler.com. When I said it to dh he said "That's beautiful" so she had her name as soon as she was born. Sadly she died not long after and dh died this year.
