Winter, for a boy?

My daughter's middle name is Summer, she was born in Summer. I want to do the same for my son - he is due in December! Thoughts on Winter as a middle name, for a boy?

If my daughter was born in Spring (sic) her middle name would have been Spring
Now why doesn't that surprise me.

BabyBoyDecember · 20/11/2016 22:32

I just think it's nice to have a middle name that means something. There's no family to honour...

It isn't compulsory to have a middle name. If you want meaningful you could choose a friend, the baby's father, someone you admire (scientist, author etc). The season they happen to be born in seems pretty meaningless to me-won't they have their birthday to remind them they're a winter baby. Confused

I guess if you're going to use something that's a bit out there af least it isn't their first name.

You could use a winter name but not winter if you wanted

Noel
Olwen (white footprint)
Nicholas
Aubin (means white)
Gabriel

I like it but only spelt 'Winter'

maloryt0wers · 20/11/2016 22:48

I think there's a pretty good chance your son won't thank you for it in 10 years time.

The matching name thing is a bit twee too.

Is coming.

The books will be around for a while. He hasn't finished writing them yet. Quite a connotation to live with. Sorry.

No, it's horrible. Don't do that to your future child.
Let him be able to show his driving license, get married, generally exist without the fear of ridicule when people see/hear that absurd name.
