No, I think it's fine.

ErrolTheDragon · 20/11/2016 19:15

It would never have occurred to me that Ellie might be used as a NN for Isabella. Izzy and Ellie is fine, and the full versions sound good together too. Nice names!

100% agreed with ErrolTheDragon

I think it's fine.

Don't see any issues here, both nice names separate & together.

SarcasmMode · 20/11/2016 20:39

I think it's more likely to be Izzy and Ellie/Ella. In which case I think they go really well together so no, NBU.

Sandsnake · 20/11/2016 20:41

100% fine, presuming you don't nickname them both Ellie... Wink

Very nice, classy names. They go well together without sounding 'matchy' imo.

emwithme · 20/11/2016 20:45

(1) Don't give them the same nickname then (!)

(2) My first thought was "well, there's at least three or four generations between Eleanor (of Aquitaine - wife of Louis VII of France and then Henry II of England) and Isabella (wife of Edward II of England)". Strangely, Isabella was a descendant of Eleanor via more than one route, at least one from each husband.

Pluto30 · 21/11/2016 06:38

Not likely that Isabella would ever get called Ellie, so it's fine.

But you may end up with a Bella and Ellie, if that bothers you.

NoSunNoMoon · 21/11/2016 06:46

Lovely names, except I'd spell it the Welsh way - Elinor.

GoodyGoodyGumdrops · 21/11/2016 06:53

Not at all U.

I know an Izzy and Ellie pair of sisters.

When they are little you will 'set' their nicknames by using them, and others will follow your example. By the time they girls are of an age to have opinions, and for friends to be creating nicknames, Isabella is likely to reject Ella as a nickname as that is already her sister's name. So it won't happen.

Not at all, Isabella and Eleanor are lovely together. Most Isabella's I know are Izzy's or Bella's, Eleanor's are usually Ellie though.
