Do you think Bailey is too feminine? This has been a favourite of mine for years but DH is insistent that it is a girls name, though I have only come across when girl named Bailey and that was on Educating Yorkshire.

Really popular name for dogs (sorry they're girl dogs too).

YoScienceBitch · 08/11/2016 17:09

I love it. (I am biased)

Another who associates it with a dog's name or surname

LunaLoveg00d · 08/11/2016 17:38

Have only ever known one Bailey and she was female.

User1234567891011 · 08/11/2016 17:46

Only known one Bailey, he was a boy. But he was a little shite.

Blossomdeary · 08/11/2016 17:49

Fine while he is young, but who would want to be Old Bailey? Grin

sijjy · 08/11/2016 17:52

Love this name for a boy. (Biased too)

Sugarcoma · 08/11/2016 19:37

Wasn't there a (hot) Bailey in Party Of Five?

strawberrypenguin · 08/11/2016 19:40

Reminds me of Greys Anatomy! It's not a name I'd pick myself but I don't think it would be that 'put there' either

NapoleonsNose · 08/11/2016 19:43

I know one of each, both teenagers now. Not a name I'd pick personally because I'm not keen on the surname as first name thing but I think it's fine for either sex.

temporarilyjerry · 08/11/2016 19:55

I'm not keen on surnames as first names wither, but do quite like this spelt Bayleigh. Blush

temporarilyjerry · 08/11/2016 19:56

either

Reminds me of Bailey from Party of Five too.

Sophronia · 08/11/2016 21:36

I know one (male) who spells it Bayley

bloodymaria · 08/11/2016 21:37

Same!

Only known one and she was a girl. For me it's a surname and a dogs name so I don't like it for boys or girls tbh.

PoldarksBreeches · 09/11/2016 04:55

I know male and female baileys. If you choose it do spell it properly, not Bayley or Bayleigh Hmm

AmyInTheBoonies · 09/11/2016 05:23

I think of it as a boy's name. My reference for it is the boy from 'party of five'. Which is now a really old kids tv show!

I've never met anyone called it except dogs in real life.

Joinourclub · 09/11/2016 05:28

First thing I think of is 'dogs name '. I prefer it for a boy to a girl.

Ifailed · 09/11/2016 05:32

reminds me of the horrible, sickly sweet drink drunk at xmas. I expect it'll do the same for their peers when teenagers.

Pemba · 09/11/2016 05:56

Yes, I think of the drink too. Dislike 'surname' names anyway.

lizzieoak · 09/11/2016 06:13

Sorry, makes me think of Irish cream. Also in the anti-last names as first names crowd.
