Edward on BC.

He'll be known by Woody though. Thoughts?

I know an older child called Woody. It's a great name.

Ilovenannyplum · 04/11/2016 20:55

I watch Toy Story A LOT thanks to 2yr old DS.
Woody is the cowboy and will always be the cowboy.

upaladderagain · 04/11/2016 21:33

No. No, no, no, no.

Unless you want him to be a bin-man or a small-time thug.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 04/11/2016 21:35

Noooooo, poor boy! It's like calling a boy ErrectionShock

ZacharyVictoria · 04/11/2016 21:39

What's wrong with being a bin man?

Outrage! What's wrong with being a small time thug?

griffinsss · 04/11/2016 23:09

I adore it.

goldielookingchain · 04/11/2016 23:10

I just think hard on

gunting · 04/11/2016 23:12

This is like calling a child Willy or Fanny

Applesauce29 · 04/11/2016 23:13

I think 'woodpecker', followed by 'erection', sorry.

Edward is lovely tho. Why can't you just call him that?

DameSquashalot · 05/11/2016 08:34

Sounds a bit try hard to me too...but maybe I'm boring...

ThatsWotSheSaid · 05/11/2016 08:35

I like it Smile

ClaudiaApfelstrudel · 05/11/2016 08:37

yes quite like it, go for it

monkeyfacegrace · 05/11/2016 08:37

It's a bloody awesome nn for Edward.

Edward is my next never happening sons name.

Nn Ed, Eddie, Teddy, Woody depending on my mood Grin

YvaineStormhold · 05/11/2016 08:38

It's ok, but I think 'erection'. Also, I read Zoe Ball called her son it as a kind of joke, short for 'Would he fuck'.

As much as I love Zoe, I think that's a horrible way to name a baby, so it put me off the name.

BeattieBowRisenFromTheDead · 05/11/2016 08:38

Sorry, not a fan.

An acquaintance chose this very recently and all I could think was 'you really fancy yourself as being pretty cool, don't you'?

Mind you that was as actual birth certificate name.

Not so bad as a NN only, but I'm still not a fan.

Footle · 05/11/2016 08:41

I know a 30ish yr old one too. In my neck of the woods it means hard-on, but it's still a nice name.

milkshakeandmonstermunch · 05/11/2016 08:44

I came on to say no but then saw Edward on bc. Yes, love it! Love Woody but needs a more grown up option so Edward is perfect as an alternative. Awww baby Woody Smile

happystory · 05/11/2016 08:47

Well as it's not on his BC you could try it out but I don't like it. Would suit toddler to about 10 but not an older child/adult.

alessandro56 · 05/11/2016 08:54

I'm not a native speaker and even I thought 'ercetion' when I read your OP so that would be 'no' from me.

whatstheplanphil · 05/11/2016 08:55

Love it - if I had another boy (which I'm not going to ) then That's the name I'd use

alessandro56 · 05/11/2016 08:57

ManagersDilemma · 05/11/2016 18:31

I know someone who put Woody on the BC, followed by the middle name William. Shock That poor child! It could be a cute nickname but I'd definitely keep it off the BC as it screams 'erection' to me as well.
