Teddy!

EssentialHummus · 01/11/2016 11:49

Either, but please use the full name on the BC. These are both "little boy" names, and no hulking teenager or young adult is going to thank you for giving them the diminutive form of a name with no get-out.

Definitely Teddy, I would put Ted on the birth certificate and have the nick name Teddy if you didn't want a more formal Ed name.

Pipilangstrumpf · 01/11/2016 12:21

Don't people (esp children) think Teddy Bear when they hear Teddy? It's cute for a toddler but I'm not sure I'd want to be called it as a teenager.

BarInSpace · 01/11/2016 13:12

Yes, I think of the toy as well TBH.

sonlypuppyfat · 01/11/2016 14:08

Neither remember he's going to be a big hairy arsed bloke one day who won't appreciate being called Teddy or indeed Freddy

Teddy

HarleyQuinzel · 01/11/2016 14:41

Definitely prefer Teddy.

Teddy is a popular name now so it will be perfectly normal to be a big hairy bloke called Teddy in 20+ years time. I know a teenage Teddy and it suits him just fine.

EdenFalls2016 · 01/11/2016 16:21

Teddy - I like it as a full name Smile

stonygreysoil · 02/11/2016 06:52

either are nice nicknames, so long as you give them an adult name on their birth cert

IpDipCatnip · 02/11/2016 07:03

Teddy/Ted

Microwaste · 02/11/2016 07:07

My grandad was Teddy (Edward), so I'd pick that. There are LOADS of Freddies at our primary school now, must be the most popular boys name where we are.
