I think our daughter is going to be nameless forever... We don't like anything... She is 2 weeks :(

DD is 2 weeks old. Our surname is double-barrelled. One is with an S and one is with a T.

I like Scarlet, but I'm not keen on having Scarlet S-T... DP says that her initials can't be SS, so he doesn't like it.

I also like Violet, but my DP seems to be incapable of pronouncing it so he hates that too.

He likes Ruby, but I don't.

We both like Roseanna, but he doesn't like 2 names together, but would agree to Rose-Anna, but 1) I don't want her to have a double-barrelled 1st name 2) everyone will assume it's 1 name. I don't like just Rose or just Anna.

However, he therefore vetoes names like:
Annabelle
Evelyn
(Just to give you an example of 2 names together)

It's impossible Sad

Two weeks old? What on earth was you doing with 9 months of pregnancy if you weren't choosing a name Hmm

Because once that is your child's name, she will become the name, and the name will become her, and you'll never think "yuk I hate that name", or "the initials sound weird" or anything else, because after a while you'll just associate that name with your beautiful baby daughter.

Please only name her a name you really like. I did the above and my child is three and I still dislike the name we choose. I don't dislike my child, but I don't associate her name with her. I desperately wish I had changed it when I could have changed it.

“JAQUES: Rosalind is your love's name?

ORLANDO: Yes, just.

JAQUES: I do not like her name.

ORLANDO: There was no thought of pleasing you when she was christened.”

Let's name this little baby.
So you do like Roseanna, it is also spelt Rosanna, which is one name, instead of two, linked up.
Rosa

Stop agonizing. Choose a name you are both OK with. You don't have to love it, because it will become th name of the most wonderful, important person in your lives, so the name will automatically become wonderful.

Laineymc7 · 20/10/2016 19:31

Dippy did you pick a name? 💐

Manumission · 20/10/2016 19:32

Garnet?

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 20/10/2016 19:53

Dippy, come back 😄
Have you named your baby daughter ?

Dozer · 20/10/2016 19:56

Dispense with his surname, then the surname won't be double barelled and you can have the longer first name.

BoneyBackJefferson · 20/10/2016 19:59

I quite like "nameless forever" its not as bad as some names that people pick.

Notjustaboything · 20/10/2016 20:08

Ames33 · 20/10/2016 20:23

Martha
Nelly

Bella

These are the ones on my list, but looks like we are just going to stick with one child, and we called him Albie (Albert) so like unusual and old fashioned names!!
