I think it's a lovely name - Alex is a great shortening too.

However, is it boring now?

I like it and Zander is a great nn.

Honeybee79 · 09/10/2016 19:46

It's a timeless classic of a name. Like Alex or Xander for short.

I love it. It's smart, simple and classy. Plus you could be any age, any job, any walk of life with a name like Alexander.

Tarttlet · 09/10/2016 20:11

I love it - it's so adaptable. Other nn options include Ali, Al and Als.

Figgygal · 09/10/2016 20:13

Our ds2 if he ever comes out (40+5 currently) will be Alexander so I love it!

Madbengalmum · 09/10/2016 20:25

Lovely solid boys name.

YABVVU · 09/10/2016 20:28

Not at all boring! The name is a real beauty. All the Alexanders I know are beautiful too.

Sophronia · 09/10/2016 23:08

It's a great name. I love Alec as a nn.

Izzyathome · 10/10/2016 06:24

It's a classic. Although tbh I do prefer Xander as a nn, just a bit bored of the guy's name Alex. But it gives you that flexibility so all good.

FannyWincham · 10/10/2016 06:43

Love it, especially with nn Sasha.

minmooch · 10/10/2016 07:05

My 19 yr old DS is Alexander. I still love it. His nicknames vary according to what is going on: Alex, Xan, Ally, Xanny, Ally Bally Boo (he particularly hates this one at 19 Grin). Alexander if it requires a serious talk.

Puremince · 10/10/2016 19:52

It is the ideal name; recognisable, lots of different short forms, only one spelling, and not remotely boring.

JinkxMonsoon · 10/10/2016 19:57

I do find it a little bit boring.

It's a perfectly fine name, really classic but I do find it a wee bit dull. Ditto names like Thomas, James and Oliver. They've been in the top ten for so many years I just feel a bit "blah" about them.

TheTroutofNoCraic · 10/10/2016 20:05

I like it much more than 'yoonique' names. Nowt wrong with a bog standard, classic name that will suit a person at all stages of their life.

roseteapot101 · 10/10/2016 20:08

i like it
