Hello Mumsnetters,

Our little boy arrived yesterday morning.

What are your opinions on Hayden George? Smile

We think it's nice, but would like some opinions first!

With the risk of sounding like one of those "snotty" ones. Why having an opinion is snotty. The Lord alone knows, but thats another thread.
I think its awful and chavvy.

Thanks everyone...!

It's given us some things to think about.

Is Henry George better? Or is that a bit too royal?

We do like George for a first name, but my niece is Georgiana, she often gets called George, so it wouldn't be fair on my sister or them as cousins!

Hayden just seems so soft and strong (obviously in the minority!)

We like Aidan George too, but our surname begins with an A so we are an it funny about having an a name!

I don't think that it's chavvy.
It is in all probability used more often by WC parents than MC ones but then nice names often are Smile

Henry isn't very nice imo, it will always be reminiscent of a young man I used to know who went by the NN 'Hen'. Awful.

SilverStones123 · 09/10/2016 17:04

Thank you Smile

I feel a bit awkward putting them now! Grin

On our list was:

  • Jack (but couldn't have Jack George and there are so many)
  • Daniel (we still like this)
  • Louis (we still like this also but obviously Louis George is a bit much, due to the prince)
  • Alexander (probably was our favourite, but the same as above)

Jack- timeless if overused,
Daniel - classic and inoffensive
Louis - rapidly becoming ubiquitous and not particularly appealing.
Alexander - marvellous name.

nooka · 09/10/2016 19:04

If Alexander is your favourite then I'd go for that. I really doubt anyone meeting an Alexander George would immediately think that you were a serious royalist - I doubt most people would even associate Alexander with the prince.

Otherwise I prefer Aiden to Hayden and I like Daniel too.

Congratulations!

Haydn is great - I have positive associations as there is a v nice Haydn in DS' class. Not sure about the spelling Hayden tho.

Dislike it sorry.
