Or is it too much?

Too much imo.

SomethingAboutNothing · 07/10/2016 18:03

Sorry, too much

user12785 · 07/10/2016 18:04

No. In my handwriting they would look exactly the same.

NoNutsPlease · 07/10/2016 18:04

Definitely too much!

They don't sound that similar, but look odd written together. One looks like a typo of the other.

Creatureofthenight · 07/10/2016 18:05

Too much

Loyly · 07/10/2016 18:08

Too much

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 07/10/2016 18:08

Twins or not I wouldn't but maybe one as a middle name?

Iguessyourestuckwithme · 07/10/2016 18:12

I agree with some handwriting it will be confusing also can see lots of ways that this could be tricky - ie doctors appointments can imagine getting the wrong details called up etc.

ReeceJ · 07/10/2016 18:13

What about Ewan then?

worldsworstchildren · 07/10/2016 18:18

I know three brothers called Evan, Euan and Ieuan. Its not very imaginative.
But you could spell it Iwan

Bin85 · 07/10/2016 18:21

Having same initial gets very confusing when they get older and start having post addressed to them etc

ReeceJ · 07/10/2016 18:22

I don't know where people get that from. I have the same initial as my sisters and it was never a problem ConfusedGrin

Same here.

However, Evan and Euan/Ewan is way too close for me. Seems kind of ridiculous in fact.

ReeceJ · 07/10/2016 18:25

Fair enough, thanks all

The only other name on our list is Ryan! Guess that's his name then Smile

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 07/10/2016 20:01

Reece, you can have what you want, you asked for opinions, and people gave them. They are both nice names, just similar.
Ryan is very nice, but make your own choice, there are no name police 😄

HoratioNightboy · 07/10/2016 20:31

Ewen is another possible spelling, OP. Older spellings included Eouine and Ewn, although they probably look a bit "Eouineek" these days.

bumblemouse · 07/10/2016 20:36

How about Owen?

CPtart · 07/10/2016 20:59

Too similar. I love the name Evan btw but not Ryan

sooperdooper · 07/10/2016 21:03

No, far too similar - Ryan is nice though :)

NotYoda · 08/10/2016 18:30

No

What about Dylan or Haydn?

NotYoda · 08/10/2016 18:31

I love Evan Btw, but also not Ryan

PotatoBread · 08/10/2016 19:00

No. You would be effectively giving your sons the same name but with one letter different. Give them a bit more originality than that.

AmserGwin · 16/10/2016 09:40

Ifan instead?

Coey2016 · 16/10/2016 23:08

Too similar for me

sycamore54321 · 16/10/2016 23:56

Far too similar - the point of first names is to distinguish and identify you from someone else. If I were the elder, I'd feel annoyed the younger child had 'stolen' most of my name and if I were the younger, I'd feel miffed that I didn't get an identity of my own.
