I agree with some handwriting it will be confusing also can see lots of ways that this could be tricky - ie doctors appointments can imagine getting the wrong details called up etc.

What about Ewan then?

I know three brothers called Evan, Euan and Ieuan. Its not very imaginative.
But you could spell it Iwan

Reece, you can have what you want, you asked for opinions, and people gave them. They are both nice names, just similar.
Ryan is very nice, but make your own choice, there are no name police 😄

Ewen is another possible spelling, OP. Older spellings included Eouine and Ewn, although they probably look a bit "Eouineek" these days.

No. You would be effectively giving your sons the same name but with one letter different. Give them a bit more originality than that.

Far too similar - the point of first names is to distinguish and identify you from someone else. If I were the elder, I'd feel annoyed the younger child had 'stolen' most of my name and if I were the younger, I'd feel miffed that I didn't get an identity of my own.
