Last chance to change my daughter's name to Bianca

I just love the name Bianca. We have named her already but she isn't officially registered.

People will immediately think of Eastenders though won't they? Or has long enough passed?

She also seems to have red hair which won't help the association.

Keep Hermione!!! But then im biased because I have a hermione shortened to Mimi.

Even with the crappy Eastenders connection I much prefer Bianca to Hermione.

Hermione is fine. But Bianca also fine - I've never watched Eastenders and would think Shakespeare plays, Italian heroines, etc. It's a name with a much longer pedigree than one soap, and pretty in itself.

Ziva is a new one on me and not one I like hugely, I'm afraid.

I thought Ziva was a made up name when you first posted it. Not keen, sorry. I don't really like Bianca either tbh - it's very hard-sounding to my mind.

Hermione is better than Bianca. I don't even watch EE yet every time I hear Bianca I think 'Leave it aaaaahhhhht Rickayyyyyy'

But I think you should follow your heart. If you are still thinking about bianca then call her that, it sounds like you will regret it otherwise.

I love Hermoine. Not so keen on Bianca or Zika.

I always say the same on name threads. If the baby has already been named, then you no longer have the right to change your mind on a whim. Your baby's name is now her identity, it is disrespectful to change it. Change your own name to Bianca if it is that important to you, or get a pet. Buy your child's name is now her's and you no longer get to take that away from her. I would have hated if my parents did that to me - and I say this as someone who hated my actual name for years!

None of her peers will know who the heck EE Bianca is.

But the HP-Hermione link will stay pretty strong.

Bianca is a classic underused Italian name. None of her peers would associate it with EE or bat an eyelid at it. Go for it.

I dreamed of being called Bianca after the aristocratic white mouse in The Rescuers. So much so that I insisted on being called Bianca. My parents rarely went along with it except when they were taking the piss.

Since Eastenders, I'm glad they stood firm.

Change your own name to Bianca if it is that important to you, or get a pet.

Hermione is very HP and although Bianca doesn't make me think of the Easteanders (never watched it) it's not a name I'd personally chose.

Hermione is nice, but will always be associated with Harry Potter. The association between Eastenders and Bianca will go away.
