Hello Smile

Our son arrived yesterday morning. We cannot agree on a name! However, we both like Alfie? Just Alfie. Not Alfred, etc.

Thoughts?

My DS has 3 Alfie's in his class. It's very popular.

Love the name Alfie Smile

LetitiaCropleysCookbook · 25/09/2016 19:02

Congratulations, btw! Flowers

Sounds like you do agree on a name.

CharlotteS2016 · 25/09/2016 19:04

Yes, now we do. I think!

Just wanted opinions first

I like it. It's very popular if that matters.

dalmatianmad · 25/09/2016 19:06

My Alfie is 12, I have no regrets, it suits him perfectly Smile

ThoraGruntwhistle · 25/09/2016 19:11

Lovely name Smile

chinlo · 25/09/2016 19:17

It's pretty popular, so obviously a lot of people do like it! What's more important though is that you both do!

ShmooBooMoo · 25/09/2016 19:19

I like it!

Vajazzler · 25/09/2016 19:23

Very popular now. I wouldn't use it

GoNorthDarren · 25/09/2016 20:07

Not my cup of tea really, but I meet a lot of them at various ages and they all seem to suit it quite well. The popularity might put me off a little too, but it isn't the end of he world. If you and your DP both like it more than anything else, then I would go for it.

Ham69 · 25/09/2016 21:30

Very popular and not in a good way IMO. Sorry! Archie slightly better.

Tiddlesunderthepier · 25/09/2016 21:40

It was my second choice, but dad got his way after the event as I wasn't fit to debate it (although he didn't like it when originally suggested!) Mine is 11 now and we've only met one other in our area. You won't regret it! Mine could never be anything else now. Congratulations!

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 25/09/2016 22:20

I'm not keen. But I think that's just because of his popularity, but. It's obviously popular for a reason.
Congratulations Flowers

SanityAssassin · 25/09/2016 23:37

But call him an "adult" name on his birth certificate?? Alfred or Wilfred?

mamabluestar · 26/09/2016 00:21

My grandad was always known as Alfie, even though he was Alfred. I love the name but it was very popular when I had my DS, so he is Joseph Alfie. If you both love it go for it. Congratulations :)

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 26/09/2016 12:49

Just Alfie is fine, he will become Alf, as he grows up.

pinkhorse · 26/09/2016 12:54

I know a lot of dog's called Alfie so wouldn't call a child it but it doesn't matter what anybody else thinks. It's your baby!

Marmalade85 · 26/09/2016 13:17

It's very popular so wouldn't be one I would go for.

newmummyy16 · 26/09/2016 14:19

That's a cute name

Pipilangstrumpf · 27/09/2016 14:33

I don't like Alfie personally, but as long as YOU love it, that's what matters. Congratulations!

WordGetsAround · 27/09/2016 14:36

Nobody else's opinion should matter really. I don't like it - too cute and too popular, but that shouldn't bother you if you both like it! I bet you wouldn't like my name choices!

Hope you've had a great first 24 hours with him.

sonlypuppyfat · 27/09/2016 18:17

Congratulations, it's a very popular name. I'm not keen but it's what you like, enjoy your life with him, boys are great fun. Mine makes my life complete

DocMcFanjo · 27/09/2016 18:18

I know an Alfred nn Freddie. Just another option!
