We are expecting a son. We like Cody.

Thoughts?

Agree with the naughty boy theme I'm afraid !
Also I dnt think it's very manly IMO, more boyish

Onenerfwarfrombreakdown · 25/09/2016 01:30

Too American, too twee, imo.

chattygranny · 25/09/2016 02:24

I would also assume he was American.

CrystalMcPistol · 25/09/2016 02:28

Oh dear! You can't have people thinking he's..................American!

mathanxiety · 25/09/2016 02:38

It's an Irish surname and no different in that respect from Ryan, etc.

It does sound American, but not in the same way that Brayden does. It has a more classic ring to it - like Buffalo Bill Cody, with an old cowboy vibe, or as pps have said, a surfer vibe.

I do like Cody. I have known two over the years and both have been very bright and lovely little boys. So ignore comments about them being 'naughty boys' a child's name can never determine a child's character!

I knew a little girl named Cody. I don't mind it but then I like surname type names which is sneered at on here.
You would get a better response on here if it was Simon or Edmund Confused so I wouldn't take much notice.
