Thoughts?

Pronounced Ell-E-Yus...

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I like it and I've never heard it used for a girl.

It's Walt Disney's middle name, but there I'm pretty sure it's pronounced E-lie-us.

HarleyQuinzel · 16/09/2016 11:48

It's different I like it, but I prefer it pronounced how pp suggested.

MrsJoeyMaynard · 16/09/2016 11:56

I've only come across the e-lie-us pronunciation too, and I've only ever seen it used for boys.

worrierandwine · 16/09/2016 12:01

Agree with pp, love the name but only heard the ee lie uss pronunciation.

everdene · 16/09/2016 12:02

Yes, I like it but have also only heard of it pronounced El-eye-as.

2014newme · 16/09/2016 12:06

Sounds too much like
alias i prefer Elliott

timeforsomethingnewithink · 16/09/2016 12:13

Love it! But needs to be pronounced E lie us. Otherwise use Elliott, which is also great.

user1471734618 · 16/09/2016 12:15

well it IS a boy's name, so yes.
E lie us is how it is pronounced.

margewiththebluehair · 16/09/2016 13:54

Elias - can be pronounced either way - but in England it is E-Lie-Us and in the meditteranean/middle east it is pronounced El-i-yus.

It is a beautiful name with a beautiful meaning (the Lord is my God). It is the Greek for Elijah.

LadyB49 · 16/09/2016 13:56

Love it. But not as op pronounced it

Pipilangstrumpf · 16/09/2016 14:06

I like it. It can be pronounced phonetically as El-i-as (as in German speaking and other countries) or the as El-ie-as. I actually prefer the first version (think that's what the op means).

helenatroy · 16/09/2016 14:19

It's lovely and you love it. Go for it.

PandasRock · 16/09/2016 14:23

I know one.

Pronounced Eee-lee-as.

It's a nice enough name.

Joinourclub · 16/09/2016 16:58

I like it and gave only known one, and they pronounced uf as you do.

PotatoBread · 16/09/2016 17:00

I like it but I struggle to know which way to pronounce it properly if I just see it written down.

GoNorthDarren · 18/09/2016 21:29

I know one who is a baby. His parents pronounce it El-eye-us.

GherkinsOnToast · 18/09/2016 21:33

My Godson is Elia (EL EE UH) which I love.
