2 syllable girl names, that can't be shortened?

Any ideas?

Names like:

Scarlett
Layla

I don't mean names like Darcy (as that will get Darce, I just can't imagine anyone shortening a name to Scar or Lay)

Any ideas?

Everything can be shortened.

NorbertDentressangle · 14/09/2016 20:17

IME all names will shortened.

My daughters name fits your criteria but in primary school friends shortened it.

I've heard a Martha called Mar, and Ella called Ell, a Lucy called Luce, a Zoe called Zo ......

I'm an Alice. My name has often been shortened to Ali or Al. It's definitely not a name that can't be shortened.

PotatoBread · 14/09/2016 21:53

You can shorten most names and even if you can't, other nn's randomly form.

My DD has a nn I never would've thought of, but it just sort of happened and I love it.

CourtJester · 15/09/2016 15:36

I also agree that most names will get shortened to some form (I know a Scarl (Scarlett) ) However if you really don't want to shorten a name people will eventualy get used to it (I know a Danielle who refuses to answer is someone just calls her Dani, they soon get the idea)

My dd is called Elin

Her friends used to call her Els in primary school

She's now at uni and people call her Alan Confused(that's comes from Starbucks though!)

My other dd is Cerys - no obvious shortening of that IME
