Desperately trying to settle on a name, hubby loves Vincent, I've had final say on the last four names we've chosen (cos he's nice like that) ! He's liked Vincent for a long time, but I'm just not sure of how I feel about the name.. Is it too stuffy / dull?!
Would appreciate opinions / suggestions,
Thank you :)

Sandsnake · 01/09/2016 22:48

I think of Tim Vincent. I think there might be something wrong with me...

frenchielala · 01/09/2016 22:49

I think St Vincient. It's quite a catholic name I think

lalaland1985 · 01/09/2016 22:51

Vincent!!

bushtailadventures · 01/09/2016 22:51

Vincent D'onofrio, very good actor, is the first thing that springs to mind Smile

I know a Vincent who is 8, lovely boy, always called Vincent too, never Vince or Vinnie. I know an older Vinnie, he's nice too, if thats any help?

Thingvellir · 01/09/2016 22:53

I know 3 Vincents in RL, all really nice blokes, but all middle-aged. 2 go by Vince the third is a Vinnie. I dont have any negative views of the name, quite the opposite just feel that its a bit older blokey, like Steve or Neil.

BagelGoesWalking · 01/09/2016 22:54

Can't believe no one has mentioned Vincent Price! Grin

RunnyRattata · 01/09/2016 22:54

Van Gogh and the clever and gorgeous boy I had a massive crush on at school.

TwoHatsTooMany · 01/09/2016 22:55

I love Vincent and Vinnie as a nn. Though to be honest I stirs up some American sitcom 'sterotype' as an Italian gangster type, 'yo, cousin vin-ney, how you doin'

I may have watched too many sitcoms as a child 😯

FinnegansCake · 01/09/2016 22:57

Clawdy - starry starry night was my first thought too Smile

Definitely Van Gogh, but I think of his paintings rather than the artist himself.

upaladderagain · 01/09/2016 23:09

Vinnie - a thug with a baseball bat.

DramaAlpaca · 01/09/2016 23:14

I find it stuffy & old fashioned, sorry.

MargaretCabbage · 01/09/2016 23:22

Vincent Price.

I love the name, but used it on a cat before DC.

neolara · 01/09/2016 23:24

1970's spiv. Sorry.

Fingermoose · 01/09/2016 23:45

The Don Maclean song for me too. Was a serious contender for us but I couldn't get around Vince which reminds me of mince and wince.

Catnoise · 02/09/2016 05:52

I clicked on this apprehensively as it is our chosen name for our son due next month.

Pleased to see it is mostly positive comments.

I can see us using Vince and Vinny a lot, as well as 'V' which I seem to have taken to calling him.

Motherfuckers · 02/09/2016 05:56

My dog! I love it for a baby too!

Alexthekid · 02/09/2016 06:02

Vinnie is on my shortlist for a boy!
I obviously love it (and Vincent)

Joinourclub · 02/09/2016 06:02

I get an image of a young Italian American in a leather jacket and hear 'hey Vinnie'.

barnet · 02/09/2016 06:04

Vincent seems original. He is also a lovely boy from Bordeaux.

Honeyandfizz · 02/09/2016 06:07

Also think of a thug maybe a gang member!

MrsDallowaySaid · 02/09/2016 06:21

Both Vinnies I teach are very naughty so it makes me think of that. I'm not sure you'd be able to prevent the Vinnie nickname...

Outnumbrd · 02/09/2016 06:28

My Uncle (Vincenzo) 70's moustache, rogue!
