We are having our 2nd girl (dd name is Florence). In the title are a few of our current favourites. Our list is probably

Hermione
Freya
Bonnie

I just don't know if any of them are right. I usually like quite classic and strong names. Which do you prefer and do you have any suggestions? DH vetoes quite a few that I like Angry Thank you

I have a Freya, I didn't realise it was so popular until now. Maybe it's more popular in England than in NI Confused We picked it because of its meaning.
I like Bonnie, but not sure if it goes well with Florence.
Picking names is difficult!

WellyMummy · 20/08/2016 23:08

I love the name Freya, but I think it's a bit twee as Florence's sister and whilst it was an unusual name 10 years ago I wouldn't use it now as it's becoming too popular for me.

I love Hermione.

Bonnie is another good name, but it does make me think of dogs.

Good luck and enjoy your girls!

hownottofuckup · 20/08/2016 23:41

Fenella nn Nell?

DramaAlpaca · 21/08/2016 02:28

From your list, Hermione would go best with Florence. Shame about the HP connection.

As alternatives I'd suggest Clementine or Jessamine.

margiebargie · 21/08/2016 07:42

Stella
Alice
Rose
Elise
Marion

SorenaJ · 21/08/2016 10:36

Hermione is lovely. Dislike Bonnie.

Dogolphin · 21/08/2016 19:24

Bonnie short for Beatrice

MadisonAvenue · 21/08/2016 19:31

Love Hermione and it goes so well with Florence. Bonnie is okay, Freya is my least favourite and it's so overused.

SorenaJ · 21/08/2016 19:38

Frances?

WaitrosePigeon · 21/08/2016 21:26

Freya is boring.

Hermione I like.

Bonnie I love!

margiebargie · 21/08/2016 21:47

Beatrice is lovely, nn Bea

Olbersparadox · 22/08/2016 09:14

If hubby was ok with it I would have gone with Hermione or Freya even. Both were on my list. Lovely names.

TealGiraffe · 22/08/2016 12:11

I love Freya but not with florence....

Agree Hermione goes well. I know 2 florences, one has a sister called Constance (Connie) and the other has a sister called Thea.

Noodlebetti · 22/08/2016 14:01

We are having a little girl too, and if my husband allowed it I would definitely choose Hermione, and that is BECAUSE of the HP link. Massive fan. But unfortunately he can't get away with it so he has said nope. I love Luna too, but being a Harry Potter fan I fear she would get called Loony so can't bring myself to call her that either.

Jennywallpaper · 22/08/2016 15:04

Noodle my husband wanted to name our daughter Luna but I just couldn't do it, it's such a lovely name but I was worried it was too unique. I wish I'd put it as her middle name now, cause I know we won't have anymore DC

MiniAlphaBravo · 22/08/2016 16:07

Thanks everyone for all the feedback. Very helpful. Liking the idea of Beatrice nn Bonnie as I do quite like more 'serious' sounding names I suppose, with nice nicknames. Like Bea too. Also like Constance.

Can anyone think of any nicknames for Hermione? I was thinking possibly Mimi but maybe it's a bit obscure...

Dogolphin · 22/08/2016 18:36

Mimi works really well for Hermione.

Alisvolatpropiis · 22/08/2016 18:54

I think Mimi works for Hermione.

I knew an adult Hermione, would be mid 40's now. As far as I know she was always just Hermione.

Alisvolatpropiis · 22/08/2016 18:55

I'm a big Hermione fan, it's my daughters middle name. Husband wasn't into having it as her first name but I got it in there Grin

hollyisalovelyname · 22/08/2016 19:03

Freya
Hermione - Harry Potter
Bonnie- Bonnie Langford

hollyisalovelyname · 22/08/2016 19:04

Eloise
