all ace suggestions thanks MNers.... Thanks for your kind opinion sonlypuppyfat too! Hmm
Way set against another F but loving Fergus.... DH is English born but with Scottish father and grandad so nice that we like the Scottish names but not essential that we have a Scottish name....
Also like Rex....

Love Wilfred, how about Wilbur? My hypothetical second son would be Cassius.
For the person who said don't inflict your ds with Wilfred or Stan (great names IMO) how about inflicting Ira everytime he has to spell it!

I LOVE the name Stanley, although really like Leonard, Wilfred, Arthur, Seth, Seb and Francis.

Really loving old boy names so appreciate this post Smile

Stanley is a very very popular name in my area (north west) so doesnt necessarily meet the 'unusual' requirement! Fergus and also Fergal are nice.

Placeinthesun · 18/08/2016 22:03

Ferris (nn Fen)
Atherstone (nn Stan)
Atholl
Josiah
Victor
Ivan
Solomon
Dexter

.... All of which I considered (some under duress from Ex H) ....said child got called Anatoly (nn Tolly) in the end.

Placeinthesun · 18/08/2016 22:04

Damn autocorrect.... Fenris not Ferris.

ImperialBlether · 18/08/2016 22:05

Louis. It's a very cool name.

BikeRunSki · 18/08/2016 22:05

Neither Wilfred or Stanley are unusual amongst my DCs (7 and 4) peers and their siblings.

Floralnomad · 18/08/2016 22:12

Both of your other names are also Canadian rivers so if you want to keep that going you could use Ferguson , Hudson or Stewart .

Christine88 · 18/08/2016 22:12

Ive got a Rupert, we also loved Patrick, Felix, jasper, Dennis, Stanley, Jeff and Arthur!

Placeinthesun · 18/08/2016 22:19

Ooh I like Dennis too and Martin and Dirk.

How about Fforbes, to go with the Scottish theme.

cece · 19/08/2016 07:21

Victor
Jonathan nn Jonny
Sidney

sonlypuppyfat · 19/08/2016 07:32

ham69 I think if your having to spell Ira out to someone then they are not going to be bright enough to know what the letters stand for

broodykg · 19/08/2016 12:56

Interesting to hear about Stanley being common in some areas, I've not heard of one yet
