Elle sounds like 'hell' in a cockney accent. As discovered when a cockney friend introduced me to her niece...😂

Until I read the full thread I was actually stupidly reading Elle as Ellie Blush I don't know why m, I used to but Elle magazine and knew how to pronounce.
I think though that might happen a lot by stupid people like me as Ellie is a very popular name.

I actually think Ellen is the nicest as not used as much nowadays. ( could as someone else has said have any of the above then as a NN)

JiltedJohnsJulie · 12/08/2016 21:04

Elle.

Mollbie · 13/08/2016 20:41

Not the middle one, sounds made up.

Elle is quite 'trendy'.

Ellen is classic and underused.

Both lovely.

ProfessorPickles · 13/08/2016 20:45

I love Ellen Smile

choccybiscuit · 13/08/2016 20:46

Elle, or Ella?

Squabblesallaround · 13/08/2016 20:49

I have an Eleni in my Greek family, love it. She shortens it to Elle. Covers 2 of your names Smile

DramaAlpaca · 13/08/2016 21:46

Eleni without the 'e' on the end.

Summerbluues · 13/08/2016 21:52

Ellen. But I recently discovered the name Eliina which I love. I know a little girl with an Estonian mum called this but I guess in English you'd just use one I. Said like El-ee-nah.

CakeRattleandRoll · 14/08/2016 01:44

Eleni, using the traditional spelling.

ridiculouspirate · 14/08/2016 02:01

Ellen

Eleni is nice and would be the most unusual. Do you mean the Greek name? Not sure of the pronunciation though.
Ellen is quite nice, though I'd actually prefer Helen.
Elle could be quite confusing, as of course it is French for 'she'. Plus some people will pronounce as 'Ellie' which is just annoying.

You could have just Ella, which is nice but very popular.
Have you considered Eleanor/Elinor or Eleanora?
Or Elena of course which can be either el-ay-na or elenn-a I think.

Babymouse · 14/08/2016 07:58

Ellle
