Not short for Delilah. Really grown on me but still curious of other people's opinions. Any nice middle names to go with it would also be helpful.Smile

Lovely name. Becoming a bit popular now, but not overly so, I think.

I would pronounce it Lie-luh.

Lilah Rose (yes I know Rose is very common, but it just sounds nice)
Lilah Grace (" ")
Lilah Miriam
Lilah Madeleine
Lilah Mary
Lilah Ruth
Lilah Sophie
Lilah Harriet
Lilah Juliet

Raines100 · 11/08/2016 06:03

Very pretty. Makes me think of lilac, so Rose goes v well.
Also like Lilah Cerise as a left field choice.

MephistoMarley · 11/08/2016 06:15

Kind of blah, sorry

Pemba · 11/08/2016 06:44

Lilah Bethany
Lilah Eve
Lilah Katharine

One of my good friends way back in the mists of time was called Lilah. She pronounced it lil-ah. It's a lovely name.

mollie123 · 11/08/2016 06:55

why not Leila or Leyla/Layla - long established names.

Makes me think of that dreadful Oasis song I'm afraid.

lalalemon · 11/08/2016 07:06

I would imagine you'd be spelling it out forever. Lyla would be the more common spelling!

SteviebunsBottrittrundle · 11/08/2016 08:12

I'm not keen sorry. I don't know anyone called Lilah actually, but it does sound a bit 'blah' to my ear because I know at least two each (children and adults) of the following:

Lily, Lola, Layla, Lyra, Lara, Leah

MuffyTheUmpireSlayer · 11/08/2016 08:13

I like it!

RickOShay · 11/08/2016 08:15

Much prefer Lily or Delilah. Just doesn't sound right.

Enb76 · 11/08/2016 08:15

I like it. I have a friend called Lilah. She was named after her very old family English grandmother so it's hardly an out there choice.

junebirthdaygirl · 11/08/2016 08:22

Friend called this spells it Lileah. She is in her 60s so popular then. Hadn't heard it for years but on the way back like Iris and Mabel. Be careful that it is not going to pop up everywhere all of a sudden like Lily did a while back.
Lileah Anne
Lileah Jean/Jane
Think one syllable names are best to go with it.

Sophronia · 11/08/2016 12:21

I like it but spelled Lila, the h on the end looks unnecessary.

Kit30 · 11/08/2016 12:25

Neither for or against but it's everywhere. Sorry - it's the hipster name of choice for girls. Can't move for hipster dads in a certain S. Manc suburb and their baby Lyla/Lila/ Layla/Layli

Mottled · 11/08/2016 15:00

I was going to call my 10 year old DS Lila if he was a girl, it now turns out that there's one in his class along with Lily, Lacey and Laura. Still like it but called my 2 dds Anya & Layla! There are also lots of Laylas but only met 2 other Anyas.

Lilah Verity
Lilah Belle
Lilah Mairead
Lilah June
Lilah Jess
Lilah Brooke

Magazinepile · 14/08/2016 23:46

Pretty name, I like it a lot! Dds friend spells it Laila. Pronounced liy-luh X

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 15/08/2016 00:16

Lilah Dorothy
Lilia Mabel
Lilah Sian
Lilah Grace
Lilah Paige

curlywurlylover · 15/08/2016 00:19

Sorry but sounds trashy to me. A bit like misty or missy type names for girls.

Go with a proper name
Laila
Layla
Delilah

Pemba · 15/08/2016 04:19

'Course it's a proper name. Layla, on the other hand sounds a bit stripper-y, at least spelt that way.

NerrSnerr · 15/08/2016 05:05

I prefer it spelled Lila.

MephistoMarley · 15/08/2016 09:44

Layla is strippery Hmm
Layla/Laila is a traditional Arabic name and definitely a real name.
