It may sound silly but I just love the nn Em.

I really like Emma but wanted some other options.
I like Emily as well but DH not so keen.

The Em I know is Ember but I love Emmeline

Personally I am a fan of nn's. I know many people aren't. A friend of mine chose names for her 3 that are deliberately very hard to shorten or make nn's out of but I like them and I like Em.

I have an Emma. We call her... Emma. No need to shorten it!

I chose a long name for my son with the intention of always calling him by the shorter version. When he was born I announced it as 'Zac, Zachary for long'

I saw the name Emrys on here recently which I thought was pretty but quite strong too

It's welsh and means 'eternal'
