It's a bit dated, but I like it.

Raines100 · 03/08/2016 21:40

Think he has a list...

PotatoBread · 03/08/2016 22:19

Bit too 70s & 80s for me

neonrainbow · 03/08/2016 22:23

Its quite 80s/90s but if you like it go for it :)

imwithspud · 03/08/2016 22:24

Nothing wrong with it. It's just a nice, ordinary name imo.

Mottled · 03/08/2016 22:30

Similar to Darren & Lee

inlectorecumbit · 03/08/2016 22:38

Love the name.. Not too popular nowadays but kinda expect a resurgence in the future.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 03/08/2016 23:01

It's my surname. I got a lot of mileage through two pregnancies that I would call my baby Craig Craig.

ShippingGoods123 · 03/08/2016 23:05

Honestly, I wish it was my surname! It was the surname of a boy I fancied when I was 12 and I think that's why I like it Blush

I think it's awful I'm afraid. Really blunt, not very nice or friendly sounding, and outdated. Also a bit 'common' although I realise that makes me sound really snobby.

passingthrough1 · 04/08/2016 08:08

Don't like it, for me it's a Keith, Kevin type name. Think it has died out for a good reason ...

weebarra · 04/08/2016 08:15

It's a good Scottish name. I know a three year old one, he's very cute and it suits him.

ChanelNo314 · 04/08/2016 08:16

I prefer Greg....
That's not scottish though

squoosh · 04/08/2016 11:36

Not good. Reminds me of 1980's popstars like Craig from Bros and Craig McLachlan of Neighbours fame who charmed the world with his wonderful ditty 'Mona'.

leedsladyx · 04/08/2016 12:46

It's not a baby name any more, It's a 30 year old man name. I don't understand how a baby would suit the name Craig.

ShakespeareanQuotations · 04/08/2016 14:54

Surely these 30 year old men called Craig were once babies that went by the same name Confused

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 05/08/2016 09:46

Makes me think of my friend's ExH who is an a absolute cunt of a man.

Mycraneisfixed · 05/08/2016 09:57

Dates. Boring.

Mycraneisfixed · 05/08/2016 09:58

Dated!

TheNaze73 · 05/08/2016 10:00

Nothing wrong with it in my eyes. There won't be many Craig's in his year at school but, 40 Alfie's & 36 Harry's...Wink

toadgirl · 05/08/2016 10:05

I think it's a fine name.

According to Wikipedia:-

Craig is an English-language masculine given name of an ultimately Celtic derivation. The name has two origins. In some cases it can originate from a nickname, derived from the Scottish Gaelic word creag, meaning "rock," similar to Peter. In other cases, the given name originates from the Scottish surname Craig, which is also derived from the same Scottish Gaelic word.[1] Cognate forms of creag include the Irish creig, Manx creg, and Welsh craig. The English word "crag" also shares an origin with these Celtic words. The given name Craig is popular in Scotland, and is used throughout the English speaking world,[1] though in North America it is often pronounced with a short vowel sound, as in "egg," while the British pronunciation sounds like the diphthong in "brain."

List of people with the given name:

Craig Buck (born 1993), Jive Dancer
Craig Bellamy (born 1979), Welsh footballer.
Craig Breslow (born 1980), American baseball player
Craig Cohn (born 1983), American professional wrestler
Craig David (born 1981), British R&B singer
Craig Gardner (born 1986), English professional soccer player
Craig Gilroy (born 1991), Irish rugby player
Craig Gordon (born 1982), Scottish footballer
Craig Horner (born 1983), Australian actor
Craig Stott (born 1990), Australian actor

Popularity in England and Wales dropped down from 81st (1996) to 670th (2014).

Lucked · 05/08/2016 10:07

Americans can't pronounce it though which is annoying, I think they say "Cregg"

I prefer Gregor

StepAwayFromTheThesaurus · 05/08/2016 10:09

Having heard it pronounced 'creg' in too many American films/tv shows, I'd never consider it.

Lucked that 'Cregg' thing drives me barmy.

Also how Americans say 'carrmel' instead of caramel. And 'I could care less' instead of "I couldn't care less'.

Sorry for derailing. Craig isn't my kind of name. A bit 80's.
