Naming baby lestrade

Apologies for two threads but was worried might be buried in my other thread about surnames as Christian names. What do people think of lestrade as a name to go with jackson as a middle name. Too wierd?

Am aware of the sherlock connection although don't watch it. (Dp does). Would that make a difference to people.

Dreadful. As is Jackson. (Sorry Sad)

HettyB · 20/07/2016 07:28

Dreadful, dreadful idea. I'm all for unusual names, but I really don't think your child will thank you in 5, 10 or even 50 years for naming them Lestrade.

Pronounced properly, it's definitely a surname. Pronounced incorrectly (which you'll get a lot), it sounds like a plumbing business run by a man named Les.

NotYoda · 20/07/2016 19:39

I think its a silly name and people will make faces at you behind your back. Sorry.

NotYoda · 20/07/2016 19:40

Gregory is a great name

Batteriesallgone · 22/07/2016 12:51

How is it pronounced? Le-straaaaade? Or le-strad? Or les-trade which was my immediate thought (but surely not?), which sounds like a dodgy porn forum

LunaLoveg00d · 22/07/2016 12:53

Please don't.

Floggingmolly · 22/07/2016 12:56

Why is it so important to you to give your child a surname as a Christian name? You seem to do doing it for the sheer novelty value; you haven't even got a particular name in mind Hmm

crayfish · 22/07/2016 12:58

It's dreadful. Really bad. Jackson isn't much better but at least he could be Jack.

mouldycheesefan · 22/07/2016 12:59

Sherlock Holmes fan?
Sons of anarchy fan?

I would say no. And definite no to Jackson. And Jaxon.
What's wrong with Jack?

Chippednailvarnishing · 22/07/2016 13:00

It's a great choice Les Trade Jackson. He'll be a used car salesman when he grows up.

SarcasmMode · 22/07/2016 13:02

The vampire is Lestat I believe in Interview With a Vampire but it does remind me of that.

I'd do Jackson Lesteade personally - it sounds better flow wise, too.
