It reminds me of Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween, but then I'm old lol.

I love it but given that L and R are the last 2 sounds a child learns to say, it might be a bit difficult for him to say his own name for a while.

DS is called Laurie. We toyed with the w spelling but most people know it with a u because of Laurie Lee and Laurie from Little Women!

Why on earth do people think it's girly? It's a longstanding nickname for Laurence, which is an equally longstanding variant spelling of Lawrence.
