Laurence/Lawrence is a surname in my opinion. Not keen on the other two names you've listed.

Pipilangstrumpf · 12/07/2016 07:50

Laurence is the girl version of Laurent. Love me Florence is to Florent.

I'd spell it Lawrence for a boy.

Pipilangstrumpf · 12/07/2016 07:51

Autocorrect... Should be Like Florence is to Florent!

nooka · 12/07/2016 08:09

Laurence is the older spelling, coming to the UK via the Romans with a saint or two. Lawrence is more recent and more commonly used now.

I like Laurence, with Laurie as a potential diminutive. Lawrence lends itself more to Larry, which then to me is more like Terrence/Terry and Kenneth/Kenny which are all 60s sorts of names, so currently a bit uncool really.

Pipilangstrumpf · 12/07/2016 15:28

Laurie looks even more feminine to me.

mumsnit · 16/07/2016 20:30

I have a DS called Laurence (Laurie) so am of course biased Wink but we love his name and it's still quite uncommon too.

Must admit not keen on the other two.

Florrie21 · 16/07/2016 22:26

Sorry, not keen on any. If I had to choose it would probably be Lawrence. I really don't like Kenneth. Sorry.
