I was so very close to calling DD Wednesday.

OH did not allow it though Sad

Pixilicious · 11/06/2016 22:47

LOVE Maxim.

muminthecity · 11/06/2016 22:50

Kaiser is my current favourite boys name. Don't think I'd ever use it though. Likewise Jayden and Rudi. I love Ramona for a girl but would worry about her being called moany/moaner

NovaArt3mis · 11/06/2016 22:52

Aurora, Arwen, Levi, Xavier, Thackeray.

These aren't exactly guilty pleasures, just names that I love and DH has vetoed!

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 11/06/2016 22:53

Starla. I used to know a Starla years ago and she was just awesome. But I would never be brave enough to use her gorgeous name.

NationMcKinley · 11/06/2016 22:54

Emerald
Topaz
Tabitha
Magenta
Aurora
Andromeda
Indigo
Pearl
Aisling

Orion
Silas
Inigo
Fox
Jethro
Axl
Osiris
Cassius
Barry

onthemetro · 11/06/2016 23:05

Rowan (although tbh thats just one DP doesn't like and I love)
Archie (ditto)
Silas
Wolf...this one sounds amazing with our surname but I don't think I can bring myself to do that to my son if we have a boy Grin

W8woman · 11/06/2016 23:07

Topaz is a wonderful name. There's a journalist called Topaz Amoray - such a mellifluous name.

Theo Fennell's daughters are called Amber and Emerald, I think. Rather cool given his line of work.

Gumper · 11/06/2016 23:26

Starla and Topaz, gorgeous! Especially love Starla, if I was having a girl I'd use it.

W8woman · 12/06/2016 11:47

Thought of some more denied to me on account of being bog standard middle English middle class:

Marina

Serena

Angharad

Paloma

Somiya

W8woman · 12/06/2016 11:49

Heledd (pronounced the way the Welsh do).

Shoulda been WelshEnvy

woollyhats · 12/06/2016 12:40

I've always had a penchant for the following
Propeller
Nostril
Influenza
Uttoxeter

W8woman · 12/06/2016 12:54

In the same vein, woolly, I think Quinoa (whether you pronounce it quinn-noah or keen-wah) would make a great name.

Artemis/Artemisia
Lysander
Achilles
Olympia (so much prettier than Earl's Court, as the old Sloane joke goes).

I also love posh girl nicknames such as Tetty and Ticky.

NationMcKinley · 12/06/2016 17:20

Woolly I can't believe you've managed to name two of my DCs!

IoraRua · 12/06/2016 18:59

Serena is very achievable surely. It's a bog standard name in Ireland (went to school with two and I've taught a few), and we tend to be far less adventurous with names!

nocoffeenouppee · 12/06/2016 19:06

Willow and Hunter. DH vetoed both. Similar to a previous poster we're in Ireland and kids would be teased. I also love Arwen but it's lotr and I don't think I'm cool enough to get away with it. Well that and I only have boys Wink

CremeEggThief · 12/06/2016 19:12

Rainbowe as a girls' middle name.
Anastasia.
Esmeralda.
Augusta.

Inigo
Axel
Desmond
Luciano

Clementine and Joel - I love Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Blush

Also I think Fox is a cool name for a boy, big XFiles fan Grin

CremeEggThief · 12/06/2016 19:19

Some more.
Rosaria.
Primula.
Viola.

Xavier.
Zain.
Theodore.

LineyReborn · 12/06/2016 19:22

Jejune
Idaho
Creosote
Dirndle

EmmaWoodlouse · 12/06/2016 19:48

Finn is by far my favourite from your list.

I don't think I have "guilty pleasure" names as such but these are some names I like that are not my usual style or wouldn't have worked with my existing DC's quite conventional names:

Ocean
Devon
Blue
Harley
Jago
Ronan
Nayan (a Hindu name and I have no Hindu connections)
Jerott (a sexy man in series of historical novels I like)
Axel
Corey
Reinmar (an old-fashioned German name, I have no idea why I like it)

Anstey (place-name near where I grew up, which was apparently also used as an anglicised form of Anastasia in the Middle Ages)
Anjana (another Hindu name)
Vienna
Bryony

Nataleejah · 12/06/2016 19:54

Kevin, Clyde, and Kyle... that's what my dc would have been called if it was only up to me

W8woman · 13/06/2016 19:37

Iora Odd I know but I think of Serena as one of those names like Lucinda or Tamara that needs to be preceded by 'Lady'. DD has a very nice but very ordinary name, which I think describes our family's aspirations to a tee!

almapudden · 13/06/2016 19:49

Godfrey. I love this name but it's just too middle aged and it doesn't have a sensible abbreviation, so I don't think I'd ever use it.
