Horrid name to burden a child with.

purpleshortcake · 10/06/2016 03:14

A girl I used to work with got pregnant and was planning to call the baby Kaylee. Her name was Kay and her husband's name was Lee! Sad but true. Luckily they had a boy!!

julfin · 10/06/2016 04:24

Ha ha purpleshortcake my child's name would be terrible if I did that!

Just5minswithDacre · 10/06/2016 07:05

The Caylee Anthony association is a bit unfortunate.

The Kayleigh spelling definitely makes me think of the song. It's a better spelling all round. 70s and 80s names are about to have a huge revival.

ABitAsleep · 10/06/2016 10:07

I knew a Kayleigh when i was younger, she will be in her 20's now. It alwasys suited her. It was girly enough, but also suitable for more of a tom-boy. Still cute, but could be professional.

ABitAsleep · 10/06/2016 10:08

I also like Hailey/Hayley

Georgina1975 · 10/06/2016 10:12

A "Michaela" in my family often called "Kayleigh" by close family as a child. Prefers "Michaela" now as more "grown-up" and "professional".

manicinsomniac · 10/06/2016 16:32

I really like it.

Agree that Kayleigh is the norm in the UK. I'd actually go for Kayley before hitting on Kaylee. There's a character in a US show my DD loves called Kailie so there's always that option too!

Pretty name, whatever.

RiverTam · 10/06/2016 16:40

Firefly Kaylee is actually Kaywinnet Lee.
Kayleigh is better imo.

porterwine · 10/06/2016 23:34

makes me think of Kaley Cuoco the actress who sims like the most air-headed girl around so that puts me straight off it

CaoNiMao · 11/06/2016 01:48

I know a Caylie. Her dad made the spelling up. Quite pretty.

FlossiesFurCoat · 11/06/2016 07:44

It's a bit Staycee, Maycee, Tracyee imo....

Tricerasaurus · 11/06/2016 07:47

It's very 80s. I am afraid I don't like it at all.

BlueDove · 11/06/2016 12:36

Hmm, I'm a bit unsure about it, as I do like names that are a bit more unusual... We have a Harmony and Robin (DD and DS) so Kayleigh would look a bit off... I guess I'll keep looking!!

Sorry to any Kayleighs/Kaylees above but I definitely wouldn't call a new baby this name. My dd has a name that was of it's time rather than classic and now she's a teenager, although it's a pretty name, I do wish I'd chosen something more traditional.

MrsEricBana · 11/06/2016 12:49

Just seen your latest post OP - yes agree it doesn't work with those names quite.

Just5minswithDacre · 11/06/2016 12:49

So not actually an 80s name theme going?

I'll get flamed for this but what about Cadence?

Just5minswithDacre · 11/06/2016 12:50

(Musical meaning so it goes with Harmony)

BobbieMarie · 11/06/2016 12:54

I love both ways

CancellyMcChequeface · 12/06/2016 00:00

I know a Cayleigh, too.

Prefer the Kayleigh spelling, even if it does make me think of the song! I dislike -ee endings for names in general.

Kaylee is awful, trailer trash.

clippityclop · 12/06/2016 07:29

Another no, poor child would constantly explaining the spelling either way.

GoulashSoup · 12/06/2016 07:56

If you like the eee sound, I'm asinine based on Harmony and Kayleigh then how about Coralie (also has a nature vibe to go with Robin), or Connie (could go with Constance if you want the traditional full name).

GoulashSoup · 12/06/2016 08:00

Or Cecily
