What about Winston?

Anybody got/heard of a Winston in the not too distant past?

I suppose you can't go wrong with a famous prime minister :)

There was a Winston in East Enders.

I know of two dogs called Winston, ones a chocolate lab and the other one is a springer spaniel. Hth

Our tortoise when I was a child was called Winston. Other than that, all the Winstons I have met have been of Carribean heritage.

I was thinking of this name yesterday for DC3 but DH vetoed it. I think it's a fab name!

I think of labradors.

I don't dislike Winston, but we tend to know most people with short versions of their given name, and Winnie would be awful for a boy.

I wanted winston, but wasn't allowed. I still love, but don't think ds could've carried it off anyway.

I know a 12 year old Winston but he's from a culture where I believe it's a popular name.

Winston was DS2 nickname while he was still a bump - he is now 24 and not called Winston but I kinda wish we had stuck to it {smile]

Had a cavalier King Charles spaniel called Winston but he was known by his nickname of Wincy. For obvious reasons I could never name a child of mine Winston, but it's not a bad name for a human.

I love Winston! If I'd had a boy, he would have been Winston or Laurence.
We have girls with classic/old-fashioned names - Grace, Eleanor and Alice.
So exciting to be naming a baby
