Thinking of calling number 3 Charlie with Chuck for short. What's your honest opinion of Chuck! Not sure if hormone craziness if affecting my opinion! Lol

Is he a chicken?

Sorry, honest opinion Confused

ABitAsleep · 19/05/2016 15:13

Charlie, however, is lovely :)

Tiggeryoubastard · 19/05/2016 15:15

Fucking awful.
Would be being generous. Who are you, Vera Duckworth?

donajimena · 19/05/2016 15:16

Wanna play?

Chuck is awful.

maggiethemagpie · 19/05/2016 20:21

Chuck is beyond awful. Sorry. Chuck is something you throw into the bin. Do you want your child to be associated with rubbish?

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 19/05/2016 20:23

Chuck?
Chuck??

Why?

villainousbroodmare · 19/05/2016 20:24

Charles is nice, with Charlie for short, and Chuck if you still like it once the progesterone has worn off!
Chuck is disastrous imo.

I know two Chucks - both American. It doesn't seem to fit with a British person but I guess that's just because I don't know of any.

I don't dislike it but the two Chucks I know are both lovely guys so it has positive associations. I'd give Charles as a full name though as I think people would naturally assume that it was his given name.

Whenwillwe3meetagain · 19/05/2016 21:20

What the Chuck?

AuntJane · 19/05/2016 21:30

Anyone else thinking of the Chucky horror movies, or just me?

Rosduk · 19/05/2016 21:32

Ha ha at least I got my answer!!

Chuck... Like Norris???

EmpressOfTheSevenOceans · 20/05/2016 06:25

I'd go for Charles / Charlie too. Chuck in the UK is Corrie (though I was thinking Bet Lynch), throwing something away or spewing.

UnmentionedElephantDildo · 20/05/2016 07:06

I'm afraid I'd think it was a nickname that had arisen because it was a spectacularly vomitous baby.

JonSnowsBeardClippings · 20/05/2016 21:55

Hell no to Chuck!

frobskottle · 20/05/2016 22:18

NOooo
Be still my heart! When I was pregnant I watched Gossip Girl and I loved Chuck. I would so use Chuck if I liked Charles
Same with Chip...can you use that instead>

SabineUndine · 23/05/2016 16:04

Definitely not Chuck. Chas, maybe?

BoboBunnyH0p · 23/05/2016 17:43

Charlie is already short for Charles, of which Chuck is another nn, personally it's awful and I wouldn't use it. Has lots of of scope for bullies. Charlie is lovely so would stick with that.

1horatio · 23/05/2016 18:58

Isn't Charlie already a nn? I mean, maybe you could go for Char? I know a woman called Char (her real name is actually Charlotte...), but I personally don't like Chuck.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 23/05/2016 19:05

My dc 3 (ds2) is charlie. Deliberately chosen as I dislike charles, and my older ds's name is more common as a nick/shortened name than as a full name. We do abbreviate his name to Chuck, charlie chuckles, Norris (as in chuck Norris) and char-char. Not that I'm proud of any of these mind.....but as you know once they're there in the home their names 'evolve' into these nicknames. Judging from the comments above, maybe I should rethink Grin

LadyAntonella · 23/05/2016 19:25

I don't like Charlie at all (sorry) and Chuck would make me think of steak! Probably just me though. Smile

1horatio · 23/05/2016 19:43

Btw, there are much worse nns than Chuck imo. I don't really like Chuck, but it's not awful.

And if I meet a cute baby/toddler named Chuck I'll probably think it's cute :)
