Taylor Jean, what do you think? She would be called Taylor Jean as a full name exclusively. Our other two children are Greer Charlotte and Tomlin Michael.

i know a TJ which is pronounced Teej. or sometimes called TJ-BJ

As long as your surname isn't Hughes.

I knew a little boy called KJ once. I wasn't convinced at first but it kind of suited him. I'm not sure what his full name was.

I like Taylor Jean. I think I'd call her Taylor for everyday though, which I think is so much nicer than TJ.

Do you say Greer as in Germaine Greer? I've literally never heard that as a first name before. Or Tomlin for that fact. And I thought I knew the majority of (Western culture) names. I'm impressed with your uniqueness!

Personally I don't like initial nicknames so wouldn't go for the nickname TJ but obviously it is personal preference.

Taylor Jean is nice but I would say that in my experience children who have two first names often have the second name dropped by others. Sometimes this leads to the child dropping the second name altogether (so your DD may end up only wanting to be called Taylor day-to-day) or it leads to them getting frustrated at others for not remembering the second half.

It's fine, but I think it would become a 'parent nickname'. when she gets to school all her friends and teachers will probably just call her Taylor

For example i knew a Sally-Ann at school, who's parents always called her Sally-Ann, but she was only ever called Sally at school.

I also knew a Jessica, who's family has always refered to her as Jay, but at school she was always Jess.

In my opinion 'parent nicknames' don't tend to stick unless they are the most obvious shortening.

Manic the name Greer is unusual I think but there used to be an actress called Greer Garson (possibly a stage name. Not sure) and I had a friend called Greer in school about fifteen years ago so not unique . I can't imagine there are that many of them though.

OP I think Tj is fine. Not something I'd do myself but each to their own. This thread has interested me though because when I saw the title I presumed you were talking about a boy baby. I don't know why but I do associate initials with boys. Tj AJ etc. No reason why they can't be used for girls though.

Taylor is ok, Taylor Jean I agree will be dropped to Taylor when she gets older but if you are asking about the nickname TJ I really hate initial nicknames

I know of a 5 year old Greer as well - I like it.

I prefer Taylor over TJ.

We are just referring to the baby as TJ at the moment. She will not be known as TJ when she is older. Well, Greer does come from Greer Garston and Tomlin is DH'so Grandad's name.

Taylor Jean is fine. No issues with TJ initials.

Taylor Jean sounds right together. Much prefer given names to be used than nns...especially initials- a personal pet hate!
