I need some suggestions for girls middle names out of this baddish bunch

DD1 has two middle names. Both are slightly changed versions of her two grandmothers first names - imagine Helena changed to Helen, Raquelle changed to Rachel etc.

If we have another DD, I'm fairly set on Margaret as a first name, as both DH's grandmothers coincidentally had this name, though they were both known as shortenings.

I'd like to have middle names that reflect our family heritage again, and I'd prefer two so that it's the same as DD. But the names from either side Shock

Beatrice Ellen - the Ellen is pretty much a definite, but Beatrice doesn't flow with Margaret for me (especially as we have a two-syllable surname too)
Vera May - May's ok, but a bit ubiquitous as a middle name at the moment
Raymond
Reginald
Sidney
Douglas

Is there anything else we could manage than Margaret Ellen May?

Hmm - know I love Verity and Elinor but if the surname is 2 syllables too, doesn't Margaret Verity Elinor Hitchcock not our real name a bit too much?

I am finding it hard to get over the fact that DD's name flows so nicely - 5 syllables, then 2 syllables, then 1. It sort of trips off the tongue.

Phew, Maggie is lovely!

Margaret Ellan Rae

Beatrice as first name - Bea is SUCH a cute nickname! One of my daughter's best friends is Bea, it just grows on you. I think Margaret Ellen Rae is good. Ellen Rae alone is better (just me though.. never liked Margaret much or the nickname Maggie)

Or just Beatrice Ellen Rae - perfect! Not my baby, yours so enjoy the matching up. Sure it will be perfect soon with MN helpers on hand :)

The Reginald could become Ginny?

Margaret verity elinor is a brilliant name!! Maggie VE "Hitchcock". Yes.

Margaret and May in the same name does not read well. It looks like May could be the shortened version or nickname for Margaret and so looks a bit redundant.

Margaret Verity Ellen
Or
Margaret Beatrice Ellen
Both sound good to me

Yeah, Margaret and May together worries me a little. Unless I want to spend her entire (currently still hypothetical as I'm only 9w) life with me singing Maggie May to her. Which is a vaguely tempting option. Who doesn't like their own theme tune?

Margaret Ellen Rae is really growing on me, and has the bonus that the Ellen is from my maternal nan, and Ray is from my dad's middle name, so again includes both sides of the family.

However I can't entirely see very traditional DH getting on board with Rae. But as I said, a late pregnancy strop may fix that one.

As a second choice, Margaret Verity Ellen is lovely too, thanks Sophronia for suggesting Verity, I hadn't thought of that for using the frankly hideous Vera. And again, has a name from both sides of the family. DH is definitely much more likely to get on board with that name.

Anyone fancy doing the same for boys middle names with Douglas, Raymond and Reginald? Grin
