Amelie! Was on my list for a girl

Neither, both are so overused and likely to sound dated soon.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

They are both awful and common names at the moment.

Primaryteach87 · 14/03/2016 17:22

A million times Esme. Way too many Millie's of various versions about.

LaceyLee · 14/03/2016 17:26

Another vote for neither as so overused! And often pronounced differently. Esme can sound really strangulated in some accents. Way prefer Amy, Emma, Eloise, Eleanor as far more classic and timeless.

SoftBlocks · 14/03/2016 17:27

Amelie is much prettier IMO.

Esme based purely on a photo I saw of Ryan Gosling with it written on his knuckles like a prison tat - it's his DD's name, I assume.

I absolutely love the name Amelie. Especially since it's one of my favourite ever movies. But it's become too overdone in recent years and also as someone else mentioned, doesn't sound as nice in an English accent as opposed to French.

Don't like Esme.

Love Esme. Bored with Amelie.
