Dp suggested this and I'm not entirely sure if he was being serious or not. But just wondered what other people thought. I laughed at first but it's since grown on me exponentially. I've discovered that Sully was a popular nickne for Sylvester when it was a commonplace name, which makes it all the more appealing.

I love the name Sylvester personally, I have a Sullivan and his nickname is Sully. Or Van as he calls himself due to being 2 and unable to say his own name!!

strokethefurrywall (great film btw) the idea of having a Sully is now so appealing that I've really warmed to Sullivan too.

I would consider it depending on the last name and those of siblings etc.

Sylvester the cat or Sylvester Stallone. I'd fine it hard to take someone with the name Sylvester seriously. So a big no from me.
