Isobella.... Yes
Quinn..... Gorgeous.
Islay. How's it pronounced, eye-lay. If so Yes
Eilidh. No, sorry. I can't Stand names that are spelt nothing like they're pronounced.

eatmytoes888 · 03/03/2016 19:19

Isabella is gorgeous but I am knee-deep in them... SE

BertrandRussell · 03/03/2016 19:22

Isabella or Eilidh. Islay is a place not a person and Quinn is a last name not a first name.

You did ask!

Mummystar123 · 03/03/2016 19:26

It's pronounced eye- lah

OP posts:
mangocoveredlamb · 03/03/2016 19:30

I'd spell the name pronounced eye-lah Isla. And I love it!

IoraRua · 03/03/2016 19:40

Eilidh is lovely, and spelt perfectly reasonably.
Isabella, meh.
Islay - I just see "I Slay" in it, sorry.
Quinn, no, too gender neutral for my tastes.

IoraRua · 03/03/2016 19:41

Forgot to add - I actually like Isla/Islay. It's just that visual that puts me off.

mydogeatsnutstoo · 03/03/2016 20:42

Eilidh is lovely and looks pretty
Islay does not look attractive this way, makes me think of the whiskey. Isla is lovely but popular.
Isabella is pretty but also popular
Don't like Quinn at all, much less appealing than the other names

thebiscuitindustry · 03/03/2016 20:52

Isabella, then Eilidh.

DontKillMyVibe · 03/03/2016 21:02

Isabella is a lovely name but Isabella's are everywhere at the mo.

Love Quinn. I know it's a surname & I don't generally like surname or unisex names but I do associate it with being a girls name that isn't surnamey if that makes sense.

Don't like the other 2.

Mummystar123 · 03/03/2016 21:34

Thanks- I'll be pronouncing it the Scottish way so Isabella izah-bellah

OP posts:
Murphyslaw21 · 03/03/2016 21:36

How do you pronounce eilidh

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 03/03/2016 21:37

Like Hayley, but you drop the H, so Ay-lee

Mummystar123 · 03/03/2016 21:40

Yes like lighthouse says. I think it's so beautiful.
I already have an Aiofe and Niamh so we're used to name spelt differently to their phonetic spelling

OP posts:
Murphyslaw21 · 03/03/2016 21:41

Oh I like that. Not heard of that before

weebarra · 03/03/2016 21:43

I know an Islay pronounced Eye-la and even here in Scotland people have issues with it. I like Isabella and Eilidh.

marmitecrumpets · 03/03/2016 22:55

Quinn is beautiful

TheVeryHungryPreggo · 04/03/2016 07:00

I like Eilidh best and think it would go well with Aoife and Niamh. My siblings and I all have Gaelic names and I think it's nice to have some common thread like that.

Quietwhenreading · 04/03/2016 07:05

Eilidh is my favourite from your list. (And the spelling is fine)

If you like Scottish names have you thought of Ishbel as an alternative to Isabella?

NadiaWadia · 06/03/2016 04:43

Isabella is gorgeous, but very popular if that bothers you. BTW I don't understand your comment about pronouncing it the Scottish way 'izah-bellah'. How is that different from the English way, or am I missing something?

Eilidh is very nice. Didn't know how to say it before, but I like it!

Islay is an island, so I'd choose the spelling Isla instead (also very popular though).

Quinn - don't like this at all, the only times I have come across it were the cheerleader character in 'Glee', and the song 'the Mighty Quinn' by Manfred Mann (which was referring to a male I think). Dislike surname names anyway. Plus it sounds like 'quim', which is not great.

Jw35 · 06/03/2016 13:36

Islay but spelt Isla or Isabella

I love Eilidh (I have one) and I like Quinn too. What about Saoirse if you like Irish/Gaelic names?
