My first baby is due next week and I would really value any thoughts or preferences about these names. Thank you. Smile

Cara!

Ellieboolou27 · 25/02/2016 21:58

Lol at cutting fruit device! My niece was called apple"Cora" by family for the first few years of her life! Smile

cornishglos · 25/02/2016 22:21

Cara

Mclaren37 · 27/02/2016 02:36

Clara! Sounds like you're getting an even spread of all three on here though - so any one I guess!

FastWindow · 27/02/2016 02:42

Cara. Only reason i didn't name my dd Cara is that we dont use the letter C in Norway.

Kara seemed too foreign. And not in the spirit of the name 'loved , heart'

Raines100 · 27/02/2016 07:31

Just to confuse the issue further, have you considered Carla? Wink

fruitbat2008 · 27/02/2016 08:01

Clara its a gorgeous name:)

mrsschu · 27/02/2016 08:07

Cara - by a million miles
...then

Clara - they're popping up all over the place
Cora - sounds quite harsh IMO

Awrstickthekettleon · 27/02/2016 19:53

I love Cora :-)

wispaxmas · 28/02/2016 14:12

Oooh, Cora!

zazie7 · 28/02/2016 14:26

Clara is my favourite, but the others are nice too.

hollyisalovelyname · 28/02/2016 14:34

Cara means friend in Irish
I love Carys

Kitla · 28/02/2016 14:44

Clara, by a country mile.

To me, it sounds much nicer / classier than Cara and Cora just makes me think of the old lady on Eastenders.

Dixiechick17 · 28/02/2016 15:16

Cora is my name, so obviously I like it, Clara is nice though, very different

Dogadviceneeded · 28/02/2016 15:38

Cora, definitely. A different spelling I know, but her namesake is seriously badass and a great role model.

Thank you for your replies. We went for Cora!

I think Clara is lovely.

Dogadviceneeded · 29/02/2016 07:11

Yey! Lovely name, congratulations! Flowers

I really do recommend the series above, BTW, especially if you have any older dcs. Korra is a wonderful feminist icon Smile

SerenityReynolds · 29/02/2016 07:28

Cara was on our shortlist, so that's my favourite Grin. Then Cora. Clara is fine but I prefer the other 2.

JenEric · 29/02/2016 07:46

I have a Kara so clearly that's my favourite. I like Clara as well. I think the popularity rise of Clara may be because it's dr who's assistant (or was she left last season)

silverdrawers · 29/02/2016 07:50

Love Cora! It was on my list but my sons name starts with Cor too so we decided it was too similar

joyfulworld · 29/02/2016 12:30

Cara for me is beautiful. Smile

Dixiechick17 · 29/02/2016 13:08

Ah, congratulations :)

GreatAuntLavinia · 29/02/2016 13:21

Cara and Clara were both top of my list for DD - love them (but DH didn't alas). DD says she would have preferred either of them to the name she got! Cora is unusual, but does make me think of nasty Cora in EastEnders. Clara has been having a resurgence recently because of companion Clara in Doctor Who. Good luck! Grin
