The first

HackerFucker22 · 17/02/2016 17:54

Neither. Sorry!!

At a push Beatrix I guess.

Sophronia · 17/02/2016 17:56

Beatrice

Zampa · 17/02/2016 17:58

Beatrix - less common and Ms. Potter was pretty awesome.

Riderontheswarm · 17/02/2016 18:00

Beatrice. I used to think it was awful. I think it is beautiful now.

SarfEast1cated · 17/02/2016 18:01

What is the difference? Same meaning I assume... I love the name and like Bea as a nickname

SnuffleGruntSnorter · 17/02/2016 18:02

Beatrice. I love Beatrix potter but I feel as a baby name it's got that feel of "we're trying to be a bit different" about it

MrsMarigold · 17/02/2016 18:03

Beatrice for a Bea
Beatrix for a Trixi
Or either one could be BeBe

dementedpixie · 17/02/2016 18:07

I would say them differently so Beatrice would have a 'ss' sound at the end whereas Beatrix would have an 'x' sound. I prefer Beatrice.

SarfEast1cated · 17/02/2016 18:26

Have googled Beatrix is Latin, the other spelling is Italian apparently. Wikipedia could be wrong.

SarfEast1cated · 17/02/2016 18:36

And these variation from Wiki too I wonder if you could use the English version and to Tris as a nn... (sorry OP will stop now)

thebiscuitindustry · 17/02/2016 18:58

Beatrice. I find Beatrix a bit harsher.

IoraRua · 17/02/2016 19:01

Neither really, but Beatrice at a push.
And don't use beatha - makes me think of whiskey as uisce beatha is Irish for whiskey. Grin

Aquiver · 17/02/2016 19:09

For some reason I find Beatrice more feminine and elegant - definitely prefer that spelling.

NotMyMonkey · 17/02/2016 20:00

Beatrice. Beatrix seems harsher and older to me.

ABitAsleep · 18/02/2016 10:13

Love Beatrix! :) I think it has more opportunities for nice nn too - Bea, Trix, Trixie.

Plus, it always reminds me of Beatrix Potter, who was a pretty awsome lady!

Beatrice is just meh in my opinion :/

CityFox · 18/02/2016 12:24

Beatrix sounds like a character from Asterix, or BellaTrix LeStrange. I would go for Beatrice.

DiscordiaVanDiemen · 18/02/2016 13:18

Beatrix definitely.

KatieT12 · 18/02/2016 14:37

Beatrix, not keen, though... I do like the NN Bea Smile

Flickstar · 18/02/2016 22:44

Beatrix! I have one- I find Beatrice a bit frumpy and prim. We call her Bebe, Bea and Trix/Trixie

cheekstime · 19/02/2016 10:49

Beatrix - potter was a great lady x

pilates · 19/02/2016 11:20

Beatrice

msatlantis · 21/02/2016 09:11

Beatrice, it's beautiful. And Bea for short is gorgeous too - one of the few names I like when it's shortened.
