Having just found out I'm carrying a third little boy, I just googled unusual 'boys names UK' (I feel I've rather exhausted more usual ones!).
It suggested Bender. Really? Unusual is right and I'm certainly not going down that road for ds3.
Any other suggestions out there that are not that way out, but not top 50 either? Would need to be something people have heard of and would know how to pronounce.
For guidance, I already have a Solomon and an Elijah.

OP are you me? I'm also expecting DS3 and have used biblical names for the first two, entirely by coincidence as not religious at all! We have Noah and Seth, Elijah is currently the front runner for no 3!

PissPotPourri · 31/01/2016 18:15

Oooh Kaymondo, I don't think so! Love Seth, and would also be one of my main choices, only we have a ridiculously short surname that ends in 'th' and makes it sound so wrong.

What about Jonah or Noah then ?

Canyouforgiveher · 31/01/2016 18:20

I knew a VERY cool Xenon (his mother was even cooler)

Asher is also lovely.

Also like Everett, Nico, Eli, Timothy.

I know an Abraham (really don't like it) but his nickname, Brami/Bram is nice.

PissPotPourri · 31/01/2016 18:32

Nope, Xenon is too unusual for me. We're not terribly cool, I just don't like my sons being one of several with the same name in their school year iyswim.

I love the names you've used for your DSs already.

How about:
Jude
Silas
Arlo
Sebastian

ShinyShinyShiny · 31/01/2016 18:53

Thinking some more...

Jacob
Asher
Ezra
Levi
Malachi
Reuben
Tobiah

All biblical but not too out there.

YeOldeTrout · 31/01/2016 19:02

Daniel, Jarod

Canyouforgiveher · 31/01/2016 19:16

I just don't like my sons being one of several with the same name in their school year iyswim.

Then call him John :)

If were you i wouldn't use a biblical name unless I loved it-because then you will look like the Old Testament family.

how about Edgar or Harold or Everard or Sheldon (feel like the queen in rumpelstilskin) some of the old pre-norman English names are great (Ethelbert???)

rageagainsttheBIL · 31/01/2016 19:19

Bartholomew, Balthazar, Zephaniah?

PissPotPourri · 31/01/2016 19:21

Thank you shiny. I love Jude but part of me still thinks it's a bit girly. Levi was a contender with ds2 but my brother threatened to disown me...
Also like Daniel but is the name of aforementioned brother.
Definitely outing myself on this thread

DS was almost Gabriel, but is Valentino, we kept Gabriela for his sister.

If DD2 had been a boy she would have had Rafael for a middle name.

Writerwannabe83 · 31/01/2016 21:16

Bender Grin

I have an Arron, so not too popular but not 'out there' either.

We avoided the typical spelling of Aaron as I didn't want him being called Air-ron, but Sod's Law some people still pronounce his name that way anyway Confused

ShinyShinyShiny · 31/01/2016 21:16

Have you looked on Nameberry? You can search for names you like and it will suggest similar names or show you lists that other users have made that includes that name which is great for ideas.

I have a Jude and had a similar concern but now he's here it definitely doesn't feel girlie, probably because he's such a little bruiser.

Pigeonpost · 31/01/2016 21:26

I have a Rory. I also have a Barnaby which is sort of unusual but not totally out there and would go well with your other two names.

Laquila · 31/01/2016 21:53

Writer I think Arron is lovely.

I also really like Barnaby, which was originally on our list, but my parents had a (much adored but dopey) dog called that and I think they'd be a bit Confused

PissPotPourri · 31/01/2016 21:55

I'll have a look at nameberry.
I do like Barnaby but DH doesn't unfortunately. Barney would sound great with our surname.

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 31/01/2016 21:56

Nathaniel is lovely, love Nate as a nn.
Luke or Luca
Noah

Laquila · 31/01/2016 22:03

Hah! Shiny I just used the Nameberry namehunter thingy - entered 8 names, all of which have all come up on this thread, inc Nathaniel, Lawrence and Barnaby, and it gave me the following crackers:

Aesop
Bing
Field
Bars
Abacus
Springer
Morrocco

I love Americans!!

On the plus side it also gave some much more lovely and suitable suggestions:

Orson
Gus
Sawyer
Sebastian
Bruno (love this but husband doesn't)
Corin (we both loved this last time round but don't quite feel the same this time)

FWIW I think Jude is a fantastic name, but we already have one in the family.

We also really liked Auden last time round but I'm not so sure now - what do you lot think?

There are some particularly special names on Nameberry. Adolph is apparently a popular name on there today!

Auden was on our shortlist when I was pregnant, it is a gorgeous name.

Kelpie78 · 31/01/2016 22:29

What about Rhuri instead of Rory?

SueGeneris · 31/01/2016 22:31

Senan
Joel
?

TheTartOfAsgard · 31/01/2016 22:34

Ephraim
Jared

BertrandRussell · 31/01/2016 22:35

Gabriel
Gideon
Zechariah
