DH is Irish and he picked Cormac (we live in Ireland)... We are now planning on moving to England and I want to change his name to Ciaran, Dillon or Ronan... Should we!? :( middle name is James (my dad's name) and LN is MacCarthy... x

Do you like corrie you could call him that not cory you say them different but if you really dont like it change it its not to late

In the nicest possible way it could be your hormones talking, and you may feel the same about the other names a week after he has them.

For what it is worth I think Cormac is the best of your choices and the only Cormacs I have ever known have been very cool people.

I agree that both Corrie and Mac are great short forms.

I prefer your alternatives too, but Cormac is more unique! :)

He's only a week old, my friends baby is two weeks and doesn't even have a name yet! If you want to change it, change it

(For what it's worth though, I like it Smile)

Don't change it because you're moving. But if you don't like it, then go ahead. I think it's the best of your bunch, but it's definitely your call!

It took me a while for my daughter's name to feel like "her". It's a big name for a tiny baby. If you don't like it anymore, that's one thing, but if it doesn't feel him "him", maybe he just needs some time to grow into it? My daughter is nearly 3 now, and suits her name really nicely- I'm really glad I didn't change it.
