Darcey (Darcy was on our list if DS was a girl!)

StitchesInTime · 10/01/2016 21:25

I like Madeline best. And Eleanor.

icclemunchy · 10/01/2016 21:28

Eleanor, but then I'm biased it's DD1s name Wink

trixymalixy · 10/01/2016 21:31

Madeline.

Gunting · 10/01/2016 21:32

They are all lovely except Darcey. Where I live it seems to be a faddy name which everyone is using.

DMS05 · 10/01/2016 21:33

I think it does depend on your area... I have yet to meet a Darcy/Darcey!

DramaAlpaca · 10/01/2016 21:36

Darcey is a very different style to the other names on your list. It's a trendy name, whereas your others are classic.

Florence, Madeline and Imogen go well with Elizabeth for a middle name, Eleanor & Amelia less so IMO.

Also, the spelling Madeleine would be more usual if you don't want to have to correct people. I prefer Madeline, though.

billygoatscruff · 10/01/2016 21:39

Florence or Madeline

Twowrongsdontmakearight · 10/01/2016 21:40

Not Darcy! The rest are lovely.

ThursdayLastWeek · 10/01/2016 21:42

Madeleine is my favourite.
Then Eleanor as its so classic.

Soooosie · 10/01/2016 21:42

Not darcey. It's less chic

ashesandfire · 10/01/2016 22:24

Madeleine! I love this name. So beautiful. I'd spell it with the extra e though. I think it is more recognised.
Second would be Imogen. Then Eleanor - I really like Eleanor but the popularity of the inevitable Ellie does put me off.
I find Florence and Amelia a bit boring.
All of the above are far, far nicer than Darcey IMO.

banff82 · 10/01/2016 22:47

Eleanor, it's lovely.

LaContessaDiPlump · 10/01/2016 22:49

I'm glad everyone agrees with me wrt Darcey Grin I'd choose a short name to precede a long middle name, if that is helpful.

Provencalroseparadox · 10/01/2016 23:06

I really dislike Madeleine and am not overly fond of Darcey. Like your other choices

Monica101 · 10/01/2016 23:19

I don't think Darcey fits I agree. It is a fashion name, will date and isn't a classic.

The rest are all nice, I prefer Florence I think.

Sofiria · 11/01/2016 08:35

I like them all except Darcey. Florence is my favourite.

Sunshine511 · 11/01/2016 08:45

Another vote for Eleanor. I too like all the names except Darcey.x

villainousbroodmare · 11/01/2016 08:48

I like Eleanor but not Ellie/ Ella( which is also very popular these days.) I would like Madeleine next best, with the extra e. Florence also lovely. The others appeal to me less. Agree with others that Darcey is a different sort of name and might not have the classic staying power of the rest.

pilates · 11/01/2016 08:51

I like them all except Florence but if had to choose it would be Eleanor (but not Ellie).

Four classics...and Darc(e)y.

I love Imogen.

FfionFlorist · 11/01/2016 15:41

My preferred order would be exactly as ashesandfires says

SweetSuz · 11/01/2016 16:42

Know 3 under 2 year old Darcey's (London).

Imogen grates, just sounds wannabe pretentious and twee.

Like Florence, Madeleine & Amelia the best.

shalalala · 12/01/2016 19:58

Thanks everyone. Think 2 E's (Eleanor Elizabeth) is ok?
