What do people think if Dillon?
Is it normally spelt Dylan or are either OK (prefer Dillon spelling)?
I used to love the name but am worried it has become really common. Opinions??
Thanks

Ys in the middle of names look really off to me and so I don't actually like Dylan, but I'd use the more accepted spelling if you do in fact go for it.

AuntieStella · 03/01/2016 18:30

I prefer it spelt Dhillon.

MilkTwoSugarsThanks · 03/01/2016 18:31

Dillon's was a newsagents.

VO7777 · 03/01/2016 18:31

I have only met Dylans and know only 1 kid Dylan (but he's about 13)

GoldPlatedBacon · 03/01/2016 18:32

I know two Dillon's( & loads of Dylan). The Dillons are of Indian descent

Goingtobeawesome · 03/01/2016 18:32

Dylan is the spelling I know. Dillon looks hard. Don't like it.

TaliZorah · 03/01/2016 18:32

Where I'm from a "Dillon" is an idiot

Pinklily1 · 03/01/2016 18:33

If I was going to use it, I would personally go with Dylan, but I think its very popular nowadays.

MilkTwoSugarsThanks · 03/01/2016 18:33

Bloody hell Tali! I remember that! (Midlands)

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 03/01/2016 18:33

I love Dylan. And much prefer it spelt like that.

BikeRunSki · 03/01/2016 18:34

Dylan is the norm by a long way. I have only ever come across 1 Dillon, but many Dylans.

I quite like the name, but would spell it Dylan for simplicity.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 03/01/2016 18:34

Don't want to sound like 'you know who' but it makes me think of a naughty child. Sorry but you did ask

TaliZorah · 03/01/2016 18:35

Milk yeah, makes me laugh inside when I meet someone called Dylan/Dillon as my mum always called me one. Grin

PenelopePitstops · 03/01/2016 18:39

Dillons is a shop.

Dylan is a person.

Pipistrella · 03/01/2016 18:48

It reminds me of the Magic Roundabout.

I don't really like Dylan either.

Pipistrella · 03/01/2016 18:50

There are a huge number of them round here. None of their parents is the sort of parent I can have a good conversation with. It's a different cultural circle I suppose.

xmasseason · 03/01/2016 19:04

I prefer the Dylan spelling.

The Magic Roundabout hasn't been on TV for years so younger people probably won't make that association.

Pipistrella · 03/01/2016 19:05

ooooh.

xmasseason · 03/01/2016 19:06

It's OK Pipistrella, I am old and remember it too Grin

Dylan is the welsh spelling.

Dillon/Dhillon are Indian.

I prefer Dylan not biased

MrsLeighHalfpenny · 03/01/2016 19:57

Wasn't there a Dillon in The Secret Garden?

CherryPineapple · 03/01/2016 20:00

I thought Dillon was Irish...

Mydearchild · 03/01/2016 20:03

Wow didn't realise so many disliked the name. Dh is Welsh but we live in England and he was determined ds 11 would have a Welsh name. Dylan isn't common at all round here but I only like it spelt the Welsh way Dillon is a no no to me.

Sophronia · 03/01/2016 20:33

It was Dickon in the Secret Garden.

I don't like the name much but I do prefer Dillon to Dylan.
