Apologies if you have seen my other thread. Only starting a new one as want to focus on which name fits with the sibling names.

So which goes best?

Matilda
Nina
Ella
Jemima (new entry since last thread)
Rose (another new entry)

Jemima

emilybrontescorset · 01/01/2016 10:32

Jemima

manicinsomniac · 01/01/2016 12:16

Matilda or Jemima. Love them both.

They all go pretty well though.

DancingDuck · 01/01/2016 12:18

Jemima is lovely. Matilda too.
What about Rosa instead of Rose?

AuntieStella · 01/01/2016 12:21

Lovely names!

I think Jemima goes best, with Matilda as runner up.

I think Rosa would flow better than Rose, and the only one that I don't think fits in is Nina.

Sophronia · 01/01/2016 14:50

Nina, Jemima or Rose.

MyNewBearTotoro · 01/01/2016 14:51

Jemima or Rose.

Matilda or Ella also sound fine. I would say definitely not Nina though.

tuilamum · 01/01/2016 14:56

I'd say not Ella as Isobel could end up with a similar sounding nn at some point
I like Matilda or Jemima personally (slightly biased as DSis is a Jemima)

Vixxfacee · 01/01/2016 14:57

Matilda

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/01/2016 23:06

Not Ella. Isobel often gets stretched to Isabella ime, even if she isn't. I love all of your dc's names and am not convinced that any of the ones you've listed are as nice as the three you've got already, tbh.

IamSantaClaus · 01/01/2016 23:07

I think Nina and Rose go the best

BestIsWest · 01/01/2016 23:22

You have a very Victorian/Edwardian feel to your names. Jemima goes well. Beatrice? Not Ella.

DramaAlpaca · 01/01/2016 23:25

Jemima or Matilda go best IMO.

Pobspits · 01/01/2016 23:39

Jemima but Harriet or Phoebe would be better

TrappedInAWitchesCurse · 01/01/2016 23:41

Matilda from your list, but when I read your thread title I immediately thought Hetty.

sofato5miles · 01/01/2016 23:43

Jemima or Harriet

sofato5miles · 01/01/2016 23:46

There are a fair few Matildas about now. We gave it as a middle name, which we agonised over at the time but it worked out.

BestIsWest · 01/01/2016 23:57

I like Hetty.

dontpokethebear · 02/01/2016 00:00

I would have loved a Jemima! But it was the only name my husband said absolutely not to (no idea why). As pp has already said, Harriet or Phoebe would go really well too.

SummerMonths · 02/01/2016 08:12

I do sort of agree that none of my list are as good as my existing three. I just knew what to call them. This time it's much harder. I'm leaning toward Matilda but just not sure.

Thanks for the other suggestions. I'm not keen on Harriet but Phoebe is nice. I'm not sure it's THE one though.

I really like Beth but I would want to give the full name of Elizabeth and I can't because it's so closely related to Isobel.

Jemima, Matilda and Elizabeth are my top 3 names In that order (also have an Isabelle already) I don't think Elizabeth is too similar. My DH hates hates hates Jemima Sad though so watching with interest. Beatrice is also on my list if that helps? I used Rose as a middle name rather than a first name?

SummerMonths · 02/01/2016 20:46

Cookies - we have v similar taste in names! Unfortunately I think Elizabeth and Isobel/Isabelle are too close because Isabelle is the Spanish for Elizabeth and they have the same root and same meaning. It would be like having a Mary and a Maria. Shame as I really like Beth.

I do like Beatrice but DH says he could never choose the same name that Sarah Ferguson chose!

Love the name Matilda. What about Stella, Eleanor or Florence?

R00tat00tt00t · 02/01/2016 21:02

Maybe Matilda? What about Evelyn, Elspeth or Ottilie (?sp)?

Cookiesandcoffee · 02/01/2016 21:49

Oops sorry, I had no idea, I think if DC3 is a DD we may well use Elizabeth as a middle name. Florence is also nice (my DH says definite no)

Matilda or Jemima for sure. I like that Matilda has different shortenings and I like them all.

I personally don't like Nina, and my Isabelle often gets called Belle/Bella so IMO Ella would be rather similar.
