Do you know anyone called Laurianna or Lauriana?

Would you use this name? Is it too 'out there'? I think it's beautiful with the nickname of Laurie.

I'm just throwing it to the MN jury. I'm curious about opinions Smile

Laurianna is very fussy and sounds very dated. Laurie, however, is lovely.

Thanks everyone! I didn't make it up...I saw it on a film poster, that's my defence and I'm sticking to it! [ wink]

I'm not going to use it as (a) I think it's a bit too much as comments here have shown, I wouldn't want to lumber a wee girl with a name that a load of people thought was just awful! And (b) my DH hates it and thinks it a silly made up name Smile

Thanks to those who said positive things but I think I'm happy to put Lauriana in a box and throw away the key!

I'll be back with a short list of other names soon Smile

What about laurieanne? I also know a lawerence as a laurie

We had a family friend called Elizabeth Anne, known as Lizanne, which I always thought was nice.

So Laura Anne or Lauren Anne could be Lauriana.

I wouldn't use it myself but wouldn't say it was completely out there. I've heard stranger... It does sound made up though (even if it isn't).

Call her Laurie Anna Surname, known as Laurie?

I agree Laurianna sounds like a country and western singer down on her luck, singing the blues in some clapped-out smalltown bar about how her man done gone and left her, but she loves him anyway, despite all the drinkin' and beatin'.

I also think that looking at film credits can give you an entirely bogus sense of what might be an actual name. My three year old was watching a cartoon (or it might have been one of the Toy Story films) recently and I noticed the name Debi Derriberry on the credits. Which sounds like a particularly twee Flower Fairy or something, rather than an animator, or the production lawyer.

That's a shame, I like Lauriana (pronounced Lori-arna).
I know a Lorien, could dh be persuaded by that?

Phew I'm glad you've decided against it. It sounded like a name for 'Sister for Billyjo and BobbyJon? ' thread! Grin
