TempsPerdu you're about 10 years younger than DSis and her 16% Zoe year-group. Was massively popular in South Londin in the early- mid 70s.

I'm struggling to think of any more, but Beth was by far the most common! I was going to be called Beth too, glad I wasn't as I'd have been one of many in my school

Ben, Sam, Tom, James, Aex. I'd say 70% of the boys at school were one of those.

Girls were much more varied but we had multiples of Hannah, Kelly, Aimee, Lizzie.

Left school in 2008.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 16/12/2015 21:52

*Alex!

HeteronormativeHaybales · 16/12/2015 21:54

We had millions of Claires. Loads of them. Various Kates and Katies/Katys. Several Jameses (and associated nicknames) IIRC. Roberts. A couple of Emmas perhaps.

SueGeneris · 16/12/2015 22:03

Born 1977. In our year of 60 girls all of these names were at least duplicated: Emma, Sarah, Claire, Kate, Victoria, Jo, Helen, Caroline, Stephanie, Jenny, Louise.

Boys were all Dave, Tom, Mark, Chris, Tim, James etc.

SueGeneris · 16/12/2015 22:07

I think the pool of names used now is much bigger. DS1 is Alexander. There are only 2 of them in the whole school (single form entry primary) and I think of his name as relatively popular. Mind you there are quite a lot of Jake, Sam, Oliver, Alfie.
