I'm aware that they sounds like a set of Dwarves in a Tolkein novel but I love these names. I could only use one but can't chose my favourite so which one do you like the most/least and why.

Orrin/Oren/Oran
Torrin
Sorren
Corin (possibly, I don't think I like it as much as the others)
Orion

You can be as rude as you like but please give a reason if you can.

Thank you

Tyrion is also lovely.

celtictoast · 10/12/2015 19:30

I like Torin and Corin.

Surf25 · 10/12/2015 20:37

Torrin/Torren just because it's a great name!

Surf25 · 10/12/2015 20:40

fwiw the Torrin and Torren that I know are a toddler and a high schooler respectively. Both Scottish also.

Sophronia · 10/12/2015 22:16

I love Torin and Soren with these spellings.

TheWordOfBagheera · 10/12/2015 22:58

Know of an Oren, and think that's the best spelling. Orion is nice too.

MajesticWhine · 10/12/2015 23:06

I know of a Toren / Torin and I quite like that. Not too sure about the others.

quitecrunchy · 10/12/2015 23:44

I'd go for Oran

mathanxiety · 11/12/2015 04:36

Torrin (and Torin) is too close to 'torrid'.
Orrin sounds like a madey uppey Mormon name.

Soren is great and you don't need the line through the O.

Coren would be nice too, but it's a made up American name.
Corin is not Irish, and Torin is not Scottish. (She knows . com is not a reliable source for baby name meanings).

What about:
Owen
Arran
Oran (Irish spelling is Odhran)
Armin
Euan
Ethan
Holden
Corbin
Fintan
Jensen
Albin
Aneurin
Arlen
Austin

Yup, US Repubican senator from Utah, Orrin Hatch.

I LOVE Corin and know one. As you like it innit?

Sorren is malt loaf.

Corin sounds a little like Jonathan Ross is trying to say Colin and Sorren just reminds me of the malt loaf. I think Torin is unusual and a bit more compatible with being an adult! Lots of parents going for unusual names neglect to think of how it would sound on a job application!

Stollenlover · 11/12/2015 14:59

I really like Torin and also Corin - strong, cool and not overused.

TillyTolly · 11/12/2015 17:34

Really liked Corin and it was in the running for us until it occurred to me that I sounded like Dr Shakomoto saying 'Colin' and now it's ruined forever.

Alisvolatpropiis · 11/12/2015 17:36

I knew a Welsh Torin, he'd be mid/late teens now.

Alisvolatpropiis · 11/12/2015 17:38

Torin is Irish in origin, not Scottish.

mathanxiety · 11/12/2015 21:17

I am pretty sure Torin is not Irish either.

It is Finnish for square though.
